Today was the day Ryan was super nervous. Him and Chad had agreed to meet at this pizza place for lunch. When Ryan started to leave, Sharpay begun to question him.

"Where are you going?" She asked accusingly

"Just to hang out with a friend."

"Rightttt." She said shooting him a look.

"Sharpay I know it's just because you care, but please leave me alone about this."

"Sorry if I don't want my brother's heart getting broken."

"Please. If this blows up in my face you can tell me you told me so all you want.

"Fine. Please be careful, I don't want to have to destroy my crush's best friend."

"I promise I'll be careful, thank you."

And with that Ryan was on his way. Once he got there he waited for a minute and Chad wasn't there. Ryan texted him, with no response. Ryan's heart sank, had Chad stood him up?

'Was this all a plot to hurt me?' Ryan sadly thought to himself.

Just when he was about to leave, he saw a really old rusty pickup truck pull up and Chad got out. Letting out a breath of relief, Ryan went to greet him.

"I'm so sorry I'm late! My truck was being stupid." Chad explained apologetically

"With a truck like that I'm not surprised." Ryan laughed teasingly

"Hey, not all of us are richer than god." Chad joked

They sat down, ordered their pizza, and continued to talk.

"So Chad, tell me about yourself."

"Ok um, I love basketball obviously i've been playing with Troy since we were little kids."

"What do you like about it?"

Chad went on and on about his basketball and Ryan listened quietly, taking note of how passionately he talked about the sport, and how adorable it was.

"So what about you? Why do you like preforming so much."

Ryan loved this question and excitedly told Chad about theatre. As he rambled on, Chad watched smiling as he observed the way Ryans perfect blue eyes light up when he gets excited.

After lunch, they decided to see a movie.

"They are showing that new horror movie i've been wanting to see, we should see that!" Chad exclaimed looking at a movie poster.

"Uhhh...yeah..ok. That's cool. I love horror movies!" Ryan lied, not wanting Chad to think he was a chicken.

They got their snacks and tickets, then went into the theater. They sat and talked until the ads were over. The theater darkened and the movie started. Chad watched excitedly oblivious to Ryan's nervousness. It was going ok until
Bang
A jump scare flashed across the screen Ryan to let out a quick high pitched scream and grab onto Chad out of reaction. Chad looked at him causing Ryan to let go of him quickly trying to play it off.

"Are you scared?" Chad teased quietly

"Of course not this isn't scary at all. I just got caught of guard is all." Ryan whispered defensively

"Yeah ok, if you get too scared you can hold my hand." Chad half-joked.

Ryan didn't plan on taking him up on this offer because of his pride. After a while things in the movie were getting suspenseful and Ryan could barely look at the screen. Then suddenly,
Bang!
Another jump scare and before he knew what he was doing he grabbed onto Chads hand.

Neither decided to say anything and continued to watch the movie.

'It's cute that he needs to hold my hand to watch the movie. I guess I don't mind.' Chad thought blushing.

Once the movie ended Ryan let go of Chads hand and they got up and left the theater, neither brave enough to talk about what happened.

Both boys went home unable to get the other out of their minds.

'I just really like hanging out with Ryan because he's a great friend.' Chad thought deep in denial

'I need to stop this madness. He's straight, he's just being nice.' Ryan though oblivious to Chads growing infatuation towards him.
