KOTLC Fanfiction; Elysian: BOOK 10

Chapter 3:

"You dare?!" Lady Gisela said menacingly, drawing back another throwing star.

Elysian cocked her head sideways.

"I dare. Gisela, we both know I would beat you in a duel, if that's what you want." she said, slightly amused.

Lady Gisela wasn't deterred. She held her throwing star higher, a menacing look on her face.

Sophie's mind was nauseated and weak. She was surprised that Elysian was on her side. She felt really lucky, but there was always a catch. She tried her best to make her vision clear again.

She saw Lady Gisela face-to-face with Elysian. Lady Gisela shot throwing star after throwing star in a lightning fast movement. Elysian danced out of the way gracefully and shot beams of light out of her hands. Lady Gisela tapped her wrist and a shield burst out. The beams met the shield and shot Gisela backward, tumbling in the grass.

Sophie gasped. Was Elysian a Flasher?!?!??!?!? Gisela regained her footing and conjured a melder and shot beam after beam at Elysian.

Elysian created a shield, exploding with rainbow light. The beams were absorbed. Sophie remembered the same shield when Wylie used it against Umber, Ruy and Gethen. Only VERY powerful Flashers could make such a shield. This confirmed her Flasher theory.

Gisela kept shooting beam after beam from the melder. Once she realized that the beams had practically no effect, she began throwing customized daggers, etched with the Stellarlune symbol. Gisela's Technopath probably designed her weaponry and armor.

Elysian shot her shield forward at lightning speed, and Gisela barely dodged it. Gisela threw at a furious speed. Elysian dodged but barely. One dagger clipped her hood and tore it off. She covered her face with her hands, but was defenseless against Gisela, who was charging straight at her. Gisela kneed her in the chest and Elysian went flying. She slammed into a tree, her hands still covering her face. Gisela charged her and threw a contraption. The contraption stuck to her chest and set off electric charges.

"WAIT!" Sophie stopped. "How do you know who her daughter is but not her identity?"

"The Council has been VERY vague about her. In the Registry, she's referred to as: Elysian." Lady Gisela explained. "Now, time to see who you truly are."

Elysian's hands fell to the ground, and Sophie was able to catch a glimpse of her. However, her face was blurry, as if her eyes were deceiving her. No matter how much Sophie squinted her eyes, her face looked like Blur's.

WAS SHE A PHASER?!

She quickly found out why. A necklace was draped on her neck.

An addler, she thought.

While Gisela was in her moment of shock and disappointment, Elysian pounced and tackled Gisela. Elysian made bonds made of the same rainbow light and tied Lady Gisela thoroughly. Gisela fought viciously, but surrendered to the light.

Meanwhile, questions were running through Sophie's head.

Is Elysian someone I know?

Do I know her daughter?

Why is Elysian hiding her face?

Elysian gagged Gisela and walked toward Sophie.

"We better get Gisela out of here, before she escapes somehow." Elysian said, struggling to keep Gisela under control. Maruca trapped Elysian and Gisela in a blue force field. Linh gathered water and posed it as daggers, some pointed at Gisela and some pointed at Elysian.

"Stop!" Sophie said, looking at her friends, pleading.

Maruca lowered her force field reluctantly.

Marella's hands were still shooting sparks, though.

"Who are you?!" Sophie asked.

"Elysian." Elysian said, pulling down her hood lower.

"But that doesn't matter now. Our first priority is to get Gisela out of here before reinforcements come." Elysian said, crossing her arms.

"Fine," Sophie said after a while. Sophie, her friends, Elysian, and Gisela held hands as Sophie held her crystal to the light.

Suddenly, they were at Everglen, just outside the glimmering gates. Fitz stumbled toward the gates and was met by Alden and Della. They were both very worried and rushed over to them.

"I'll get Elwin." Alden said, pulling out his Imparter. He made a rushed call and treated to Sophie, who was crumpled on the ground, exhausted from leaping so many people.

Della was fussing over Fitz and Keefe. A few seconds later, Elwin appeared, carrying multiple elixirs.

He treated Sophie first, then Fitz, then Keefe. He then treated Maruca, Marella, the Song twins, Dex, and Stina. Grady and Edaline then appeared looking frazzled and anxious.

Elysian was the only one who wasn't exhausted. She hadn't taken off her hood. Grady marched over to her and narrowed his eyes. "Take off your hood." Grady said, in a mesmerizing tone. Elysian's hand jolted a little toward her hood but only said "A Mesmer, I see. A very rare ability." She seemed impressed.

Kesler and Juline appeared soon after, also very worried. Sophie noticed Elysian grimace when Kesler appeared. She didn't press further, though. She might have had after effects from the light leaping.

Soon, everyone was back on their feet. Keefe was worried sick about

Sophie, even when she assured him that she was okay. Keefe wanted to stay at Havenfield because he didn't want to stay with his dad.

The next day, the Councillors met them at their respective homes. Councillor Oralie and Councillor Bronte met with Sophie and Keefe at Havenfield. They asked them a LOT of questions. After they were done, it was already noon. Biana, Fitz, Marella, Maruca, Dex, and Stina came over.

"That's weird. I invited Jensi, too." Sophie said. Suddenly, there was a loud BLAM! The door was opened. By Jensi. He looked like a deflated balloon. Sad and helpless. The two words he said saddened Sophie so much. "I'm Talentless." he said, sobbing.
