"SEVEN?!" Sophie exclaimed, pinching herself to make sure she was not dreaming. Sophie pulled herself together and asked Stina telepathically,
"Real or not real?" Sophie asked.
"Real," Stina said quietly.
Sophie took in a shaky breath.
"Who are you?" Sophie asked quietly and slowly.
Elysian stiffened.
Sophie's enhancement was depleting rapidly. She pushed all her mental energy toward Biana's Vanishing. Her knees were threatening to buckle and collapse but Sophe persevered.
After thoroughly searching the room, Elysian's head bowed and said,
"My name is-" Elysian was interrupted by shattering glass.
Sophie's concentration shattered with it. Biana and Stina were exposed.
Elysian whirled at Sophie, eyes blazing with fury and betrayal.
Elysian turned her attention to the shattered glass as if saying, I'll deal with you later.
Havenfield's windows were all shattered.
As if...the Neverseen had tried an attack on Elysian.
The next few minutes were chaos. Only after Sophie had hailed him did Mr. Forkle stumbled into the room muttering something about insolent humans and their inventions. Sophie was on high alert.
"Did the Neverseen attack?!" Sophie asked, wide-eyed.
Mr. Forkle sighed. "You kids are always assuming we are on the brink of war."
"You can't blame us." Sophie countered.
"You kids are so stubborn."
"You make us this way."
Mr. Forkle sighed again and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a golden bubblegum sphere.
Sophie then knew.
Something bad had happened.
The last time he had pulled out that sphere, they were trying to solve Cyrah's death.
