chapter 4

Jennas POV-
I hear screaming in the abandoned building as i'm looking for him.
I look over the corner.
"Well look at who we have here.". A man laughs

"Fuck you puta, do you know who my family is? they will find you and kill you I promise you that shit." My uncle yelled out.

The men started laughing.

"Do you know who we work for?" one of the men says.

One of the guys punch him.

"Jack says hi, bye now." One of the men says.
BOOM.

I wake up drenched in my sweat and breathing heavily.

"Hey what's wrong im right here." Tate says bringing me into her arms.

I take a deep breath in and out.

"shit sorry I'm fine." I say.

I get up and make my way to the bathroom to splash cold water on my face.

Tates POV-

Jenna has been in the bathroom for about 10 minutes now. I'm guessing she had a bad dream by the way she woke up.

"Hey jenna are you alright?" I yell.

"Yeah i'm fine." she says.

But I can tell she's not so I get up and knock on the door. She opens it and I see her brushing her teeth.

"cute look jenna." I say laughing

She smiles and flips me off with her free hand.

" you're heading back home today right." I say looking at you.

She finishes up brushing her teeth.

"Yeah I have another mission tomorrow so I should probably head out soon and meet with my parents." she says.

We talk for about 10 more minutes and then I go get dressed for the day.

Im putting my shirt on when I hear a knock on my door.

"come in." I say.

"Im leaving now I just wanted to say bye before I left and thank you for last night it meant a lot to me, you didn't need to stay and I know you probably didn't want to but you still did so just thank you." she say

" You don't need to thank me and I wanted to Jenna." I say.

I walk over to her and give her a tight hug.

"You know my number call me if you need anything." I say.

she nods and I walk her out to her car.

"you'll see me again parker." she says winking at me and then getting in the car.

I watch as her car drives away.

That night.

"hey dad can we talk?" I say.

He looks up from his laptop and puts it to the side. I walk over to the couch he's sitting on and sit next to him.

"Whats up kid?" he says.

"How do you let someone in?" I say looking down.

"what do you mean by that?" he says.

" I just.. I mean how do you let someone in? like how do you trust someone and allow yourself to I guess fall in love? It's just I don't want to be alone. I want to have what you and mom had and I'm scared I won't ever let myself get that close to someone." I say.

"When the right one comes you'll just know. You won't feel scared, you won't feel trapped. When I was with your mother she always made me feel whole and more like myself." he says.

"Yeah I guess you're right." I say

He puts his hand on my shoulder lightly.

"Is there someone who has you feeling this way and questioning these things?" he says.

"no. well, maybe I'm not sure. It's just with the business and everything, how would I even have time to be with that someone and have time to feel those things." I say.

"Love always finds a way to win kid. No matter what. I'm sure whoever has you feeling these things is extremely special and if you try to allow those feelings to come through then maybe things will work out but you'll never know if you don't try." he says.

"thanks dad." I say

He pulls me in for a hug and then we say goodnight.

I make my way home thinking about what my dad said.
