The Mission (Jenna Ortega)

chapter 6

Tates POV-
3 days later.

Ever since that night Jenna and I have been seeing and talking to each other more.
I'm getting ready for our date and I put on a white button up with black pants. I grabbed my rings and necklace and of course my wallet and keys.

Jenna surprisingly only lived 15 minutes away but with traffic it makes it 20 sometimes.

Time skip to Jennas house.

I get out of my car and make my way up to the door to knock.

A woman opens the door.

"Hi, you must be Tate its so nice to finally meet you." she says smiling.

"Hi Mrs. Ortega it's nice to meet you. I'm here to pick up Jenna." I say smiling back.

She lets me in and I stand near the door.
After about a minute Jenna starts walking down the stairs.
She's wearing this black and gold dress with heels and her hair is curled.

"Jenna sweetie you look so beautiful. I hope you two have an amazing night. I dropped off the things that you needed so I am going to head home. It was lovely meeting you tate please take care of my daughter." she says.

She hugs Jenna and gives her a kiss on the cheek and then walks out waving bye at me.

We were now alone.

"Wow you look so beautiful." I say walking up to her and hugging her.

After I let go she spoke.

"thanks you don't look too bad yourself." she says winking at me.

I shake my head and roll my eyes smiling.

I make my way to the door and open it for her to walk out.

When we got to my car I did the same thing too.

"So where are we going again?" she says

"it's a surprise and I told you that the last 5 times you've asked me ever since I asked you to go on this date with me." I say laughing.

She smiles at me and then she grabs my hand to kiss it.

We made it to the restaurant and she looked at me.

"why are you looking at me like that?" I say laughing.

"tate no theres no way we are eating here." she says.

"what why its a very nice restaurant." I say smiling.

"Very expensive too." she says.

"Jenna I have the money for it. I want you to have the best date of your life with me so lets go you're not getting out of it." I say smiling.

I go to turn around and she grabs my face to kiss me.

"are you sure." she says.

I nod my head and then get out to open her door.

We made our way into the restaurant.

"Hi do you have a reservation with us tonight?" The front woman asks

"Yes. Under the name Tate Parker." I say.

"Okay follow me please." she says.

We went out the back and Jenna looked at me confused.
I smiled at her.

"Go up those stairs and everything should be set up for you." she says smiling walking away.

Jennas POV-

I was walking up the stairs with Tate behind me but I stopped when I saw what was up there.

There was a single table with food and flowers. You could see the whole city from up here.
I turned around to face her and my eyes started watering.

"hey no what's wrong." Tate says as she cups my face.

"you really did this for me." I say.

"Of course I did, you're really special jenna." She says hugging me.

After awhile we let go and we went to sit down and eat.

—- 30 minutes into the date.

"So you're telling me you've never been on a real date." she says.

"Yes i'm so serious. I've never liked anyone enough to say yes to go on a date with them." I say laughing.

She took my hand and looked me in my eyes.

"So you like me." she says smirking.

I smiled at her and looked away.

"no you get on my nerves a lot." I say smiling.

"good that's my plan." she says winking.

"You're such a dork." I say.

She reaches over the table and kisses me.

After the date was done, we walked down to her car but we noticed a black van parked behind her car. The window rolled down and someone started shooting at us.

We ran back up the stairs to not get hit and then we heard the van drive away.

I was bending down and then I started to feel a little light headed so I looked down and touched my stomach and saw blood pouring out of me.

"Tate." I say quietly.

She turned around and I put my hand up to show her the blood ok it.

"shit come on you're gonna be okay." She says nervously.

"I.. I don't think I can get back up." I say.

I started losing my breath and I felt myself fall.

"No no look at me stay up you're gonna be okay." I heard her say faintly.

And thats all I heard.
