Few people can match Daenella in terms of raw willpower and determination. Daenella has always been a person of action. In her mind, backing down is never an option. Having one of Kirkwall's most well-known Templars as a mother had a massive impact on her and witnessing the treatment of the mages in the Gallows has given her an anti-Templar and pro-mage mindset which often, and increasingly more frequently, puts her at odds with her mother.

Daenella is a very kind, loving, compassionate, and strong-willed person, who, while initially somewhat naïve due to being overly protected growing up, will become all the wiser through her time with Hawke. An outspoken egalitarian, she fights for what she believes in and generally for the betterment of all species through love and mutual understanding.

Daenella's studies are firmly in magical theory, mostly because she remained at home, keeping her magic a secret from those around her. Because of this, her magic developed differently, relying on theory rather than practical application. Through the mages in the Gallows, Daenella learnt how to effectively brew potions and poisons.

In addition to her general willingness for empathy, however, Daenella is also extremely friendly and can step back enjoy the smaller moments in life.

Even alongside all of her kindness, compassion, and empathy, Daenella is still also a rogue at heart, and when someone she cares about is hurt, becomes far more relentless and ruthless.

Outside of battle, however, Daenella can also react indigently and negatively towards people who disrespect her or those that she cares about.

She also has a great distaste for slavery.

Daenella also remains ruthless when facing enemies in battle and she even shows signs of enjoying a good battle when they put up a good fight.

Daenella has a great love of the Grey Wardens, and warriors in general, having read so many books and stories about them as she grew up. She likely held Templars in high regard at some point too, until she was old enough to understand their failings.
