So I want to do a full Dragon Age series story with an original female character. I have a few character ideas but I am open to ideas. I kind of want her to be more promiscuous than my other ideas, not really settling into a solid love interest until Inquisition.

I have wanted to do a full series story for a while now and I haven't really had the right idea for me to get started, I have five concepts to get me started, but I would love your help picking out a favourite. My personal favourites are 1, 3 and 4.

- She will be a sort of companion character for other heroes until Inquisition. So there will still be a Hero of Ferelden and a Champion of Kirkwall but she would be the Herald of Andraste.

I like the concept of a Grey Warden becoming the Herald and the effect of Cory on the Herald with his manipulation of the Blight and stuff.

1. Hawke (Human/Mage)

So she would be a Hawke, leaning towards mage for this but warrior or rogue would work too. She was perhaps recruited into the Grey Wardens sometime before the Fifth Blight. Malcolm would have been against it (for obvious reasons), but teenage rebellion hit and she disobeyed him. She will arrive at Ostegar in time for the battle.

Either she will be with Alistair and the Warden during the battle, or she will be in the battle (only to barely escape), then meet up with Alistair and the Warden later.

- She could be either Hawke's twin sister or the middle child.

2. Mahariel (Elf/Rogue)

Twin of the Warden, clan hunter. She is recruited alongside her brother, but he is the one infected by the eluvian. She will survive the Joining and go along on the journey with him, but maybe gets disillusioned by the wardens after he dies fighting the archdemon and ends up in Kirkwall with Anders/Justice.

- She can also be the Warden's younger sister, but I think twin would work better. This was written with a male Warden in mind, but a female one would work just as well.

3. Cousland (Human/Rogue)

Not a Warden. Barely escapes Highever on her own. Her older brother is rescued by Duncan and he joins the wardens. She makes her way to either Denerim or Redcliffe where she will then join up with her brother. After the Blight, she decides to go travelling, ends up with a mercenary group, specifically one that has been hired by Bartrand and Varric to go into the deep roads.

- This was written with a male Warden in mind, but a female one would work just as well.

4. Adaar (Tal-Vasoth/Mage or rogue)

A mercenary whose company is in Ferelden. During a darkspawn attack, she is rescued by the Warden and co, she ends up travelling with them.

I think it would also be interesting to write a qunari as a Grey Warden as I don't think we've seen any. So maybe it's not the Warden that rescues her, but Duncan, and he then conscripts her or she volunteers or something.

5. Elf/Human (Mage or rogue)

- I am not as sure about this idea, because it is similar to Fenris' backstory.

An escaped slave, either human or elf, mage or rogue, hiding in Ferelden when the Blight hits. Maybe Duncan rescues her from slave-hunters and brings her into the Wardens.
