THE SUN WAS BEGINNING TO SET FURTHER DOWN THE HORIZON WHEN CLEO FINALLY LANDED AT THE RIGHT LOCATION. Although Rein had always seemed avid about catching every sunset there was, she wasn't too fond of the current one. Not only did it not match the ones back home, it was colorless.
Rein had spent almost the entirety of the long walk coming up with way's Kiara could have been tortured in the moment. Her head spun in a million directions the more and more her mind drifted to the girl and she tried to push the thought out. She found herself picking at the skin of her thumb, a nervous habit she picked up over the time spent on Poguelandia. Usually, Kie would notice a pull her hand into her lap and give a small smile.
JJ had to practically carry her away from the wall when the idea of leaving was put into place. She didn't realize how much she had genuinely pent up her sad emotions throughout the day, kicking things and yelling at her friends rather than actually breaking down. It seemed to be a toppling point for the young brunette when she truly realized how close Kiara was to her.
"You okay?" JJ spoke up from the darkness of the abandoned hotel.
She slightly jumped at his voice, figuring everyone was asleep judging by the last half an hour of pure silence. The only think illuminating the blond boy's face was the moon reflecting off of the water and creating a slight glow in the interior of the open hotel floor.
