The next trendy thing in Sun Valley high were couples.

Well, not trendy, just that they were popping up everywhere and the worst part is that they were only a few normal couples.

The majority of them were those cringy 'listen to alpha daddy discord kitten' and you get second hand embarrassment watching how they act in hallways.

At least they aren't as bad as that one couple that got caught doing the devil's tango in the school bathroom.

If you passed that hallway when it was happening, you probably wanted to curl up in a ball.

Based on what Tom said since he was the unfortunate soul that passed that hallway.

We really didn't know that the girl called the guy alpha.

Apparently, it was Makayleigh Silver and Chase Armstrong.

And they seem like the type of people to do that just based on their names. Thank god they got suspended, sadly it was only for three days.

"Tom, I don't think we need to know all those details " Skyler said with a grimace.

"Yeah, but what bathroom was it" Cody added "Cody!"

"Oh it was definitely the dudes restroom and I think the girl had like a breeding kink or something beca-"

Tom didn't get to finish his sentence before being interrupted by Skyler.

"Ew stop!" He said, while throwing a cheese stick at him and covering his ears.

Cody burst out laughing, since he was the whole reason for the reaction.

"No because why have couples been everywhere recently like I saw four people holding hands in history." Said Tom

"I'm seeing a lot of people kissing in the hallway too," Skyler said, not covering his ears anymore.

"I saw Miss. Patti making goo-goo eyes at Miss. Modesty" Said Cody while opening a juice box.

"Yea, but she's always making goo-goo eyes at Miss. Modesty"Said Tom, opening the cheese stick that Skyler threw at him.

"Yeah, like how about the thing between the P. E teacher and the music teacher".

"My brother!" Tom practically yelled out.

"Oh yea I forgot that the music teacher was your brother" Cody said, throwing his now empty juice box across the cafeteria.

Sadly, it didn't hit anyone since no one yelled or threw something back.

~time skip~

The sun was setting and school was over for the day. Well for other students, people that are in a club or any extracurricular like a sport or something, end up staying later in school.

Well, most of the time they stayed, all three of them did something outside normal classes.

Like how Cody did swim, Skyler worked backstage in the theater and Tom, surprisingly, was an art kid.

Cody didn't stay since the swim meet was canceled for the day and rehearsals for Theater ended a while ago, but Skyler didn't want to go home just yet.

But he did know someone who stayed after until the sun set, and the sky turned into orange, yellow and pink.

Tom was that someone he always tended to stay late to finish paintings since he always tends to go up and beyond for his pieces.

And he's especially going to be in the art room since there's a contest coming up too.

Skyler sighed and closed the auditorium door behind him and made his way to the art room, ignoring the sounds of the band kids desperately trying to get a piece right.

He opens the art room door barely sparing a glance at the golden plate on the wall next to the door with 'Art room' right in the middle.

He didn't need the plate, he knew where the art room was by heart.

He walks in and, just as he expected, it was completely empty except for Tom, who was by a window working on his painting.

It was a cherry blossom tree surrounded by a pink flower field. Skyler would say it was about half finished, but he couldn't know he wasn't the artist.

All pink since the theme for the contest was color, you had to pick a color and make a painting based on it.

He shut the door behind his , scaring Tom accidentally.

He turned his head to face Skyler so fast it could have given him whiplash.

"Jesus man I thought you were the art teacher about to kick me out" He said. Skyler smiled

"You confused me for Mr. Smith?" He paused "The old man really" He continued, Tom rolled his eyes.

"You guys have the same height" he pointed out.

He dipped his brush and went to mix another shade of pink. "You made it a sunset?" Asked Skyler.

"I wanted to go all out on the pink" he responded easily, as if he had been asked multiple times.

"Kinda gay man" He teased and Tom threw a brush at him, and it hit him straight on his face.

Tom stared at him before bursting out laughing, leaving Skyler confused.

"What?" He asked only making Tom laugh more before he finally spit it out "my brush still had paint".

"What!" He said wiping his face in hopes of getting it off and when he turned to look at Tom.

Skyler thought he saw an angel.

The orange light from the sunset made Tom's hair glow, making it look like if he literally had a halo, he had a small smile on his face and his cheeks were red from laughing.

Skyler didn't realize he was staring until Tom checked his phone and grabbed his backpack.

"Welp I better get going" he walked up to Skyler and with his thumb, he wiped the pink paint off Skyler's cheek.

"I'll see you tomorrow" he said before walking out, leaving Skyler shocked.

He held his hand to his cheek where the paint was and felt a blush creep up his face.

God, he never really realized how pretty Tom was.

Skyler looked out the window and found that it matched Tom's painting, a sunset in the background and a cherry tree in the middle.

The only thing that was missing was the flowers.

Skyler grabbed his backpack and walked out of the art room.

When did Tom get so pretty?
