Jimmy sighed, staring at Scott's empty seat. He hadn't been showing up to school lately, and while Jimmy knew he ran that tavern with his moms, it was still upsetting. They always hung out together after class... in Jimmy's imagination. How was he supposed to imagine that when Scott wasn't even here?

He was in his creative writing class, something Grian signed him up for because he saw a short story that Jimmy wrote when he was in junior high, and they were watching the news because Aeor and the super villain Weredog (he was a werewolf, if you couldn't tell by his name) were battling it out on the other side of the city. The professor said it was for inspiration and getting better at writing fight scenes for fantasy.

Except Aeor was losing. Bad. It looked like his powers were acting up, like they weren't doing what he wanted them to.

Weredog had the upper hand on him since the beginning, but then he called in his partner, Psionic, who could mind-control anyone he made eye contact with. It wasn't long before Psionic and Weredog were walking away with Aeor.

The entire class began to murmur, people whispering to their friends about Aeor's sudden defeat when he climbed so far up the ranks after just become a registered hero a month ago. Jimmy stared blankly at the screen, in complete shock. What happened?

Scott's breathing quickened as he ran down an alleyway, his casual clothes turning into a hero suit with a snap of his fingers and a swirl of snow. Weredog was attacking the Magical Menagerie again, which was probably the third time that week, and it was Aeor's turn to take care of it, according to Gambit.

But this time was different. Weredog had taken the owner of the store hostage.

He stopped when he could see the garbage store, flinching when he felt a slight sting on his neck. He smacked the spot, looking at his hand to see a smooshed bug and sighing. He'd deal with it later.

He rushed out of the alleyway, holding his hand out to freeze Weredog when a sheet of ice formed beneath him instead. He slipped, falling right on his ass. Weredog laughed at the sight, causing Aeor's pale cheeks to turn pink in embarrassment. He held his hand out to try and freeze him again, but it didn't work that time.

Welp, I guess I'm running, then.

He stumbled getting up, suddenly feeling dizzy. He tried brushing it off, but Weredog grabbed him, lifted him up, and slammed him on the ground before tossing him into the wall of a building.

"Is this really the Number Six Hero?" the werewolf laughed, stalking toward Aeor. "You're pathetic."

Aeor had a hard time getting air in his lungs between the ungodly pain in his back and how woozy he felt.

"Aw, does the Disney ice princess not feel so good?" the super villain teased, chuckling evilly. "Don't worry, we can help with that." His ear twitched and Psionic came into Aeor's view.

Don't look, don't look, don't look- Aeor gasped when Psionic grabbed his chin and turned his head toward him. Before Aeor could do anything, he was already under the super villain's control.

"Look who the madman caught," the supervillain Imp said as Psionic and Weredog walked in through the back door with Aeor following brainlessly behind.
