7. A broken Katana

(AN: Hello, I know I was gone for a long time but here is a new chapter to make up for it. I was confused on wether I should make this Arc into one chapter like a OneShot but it would have taken an even longer time. So I decided to make it into a porper Arc with multiple chapters. This chapter contains some gore scenes, so if you are in anyway uncomfortable please skip that part, there will be a warning before those scenese come. So with all that said lets start this new Arc for Naruto Uzumaki: The Scorching Lynx of Konoha.)

"The S-Rank Nuke-Nin (Missing-Nin) Orochimaru has been spotted near the borders of Kiri. Cat, Crane, Monkey, Tiger. All four of you, along with another Shinobi selected by me will be going to help a team which will be sent by Kiri, mission details will be given to you by your pentad leader, he should arrive any minute now."

"With all dew respect Hokage-Sama, may I remind you that you have sent team captain-Dog on a mission." Said the purple haired anbu wearing a cat mask.

"Yes, but whenever did I mention Dog as your captain? In fact I did not even mention captain, if my memory serves me correct I had said pentad leader not team captain." The old Hokage said with a light smile on his face.

"I apologise for my misunderstanding Hokage-Sama." The cat girl said, kneeling on one knee.

"No worries, now you may leave, make your way to the East-gate I will make sure to send him there as soon as he is informed about the mission."

With a corresponding "Hai!" all the Anbu present left the room heading to their designated location.

After the Hokage made was sure of their exit he ordered, "You may come in now Shisui."

A small gust of wind came in from the open windows behind the Hokage chair making curtains flow gently with the breeze as not so long later a man stood in front of the Hokage. black unkempt hair, raven black eyes, black Shinobi attire with a logo of a red and white fan, a high collar and a brown harness which went over both his shoulders holding his signature Tantō in place.

"Uchiha Shisui, reporting for duty Hokage-Sama." The man now named Shisui said with a calm yet sharp voice.

"There is no need to bow, you and the rest of your team have protected me enough already." Hiruzen said, recalling the time of when Shisui was a part of the elite team made to protect the Hokage and signalled Shisui to stand up.

Standing up, he asked "May I know about the mission?"

"I haven't been disclosed much about the it either. All the letter said was that the Nuke-Nin Orochimaru has been spotted near the borders of Kiri and they require our aid in something that involves the damn snake."

"I see. In that case it might have been a hasty attempt at calling out for help since they could only give a letter with minimum information which means that its either a very urgent matter or its a trap."

"I hope the Mizukage won't break the current treaty we share between us, plus with them being the weakest of the five nations, I don't think the strongest will be a fair fight."

"I certainly do too Hokage-Sama."

"The letter also said that more information would be given by one of Kiri's own team on arrival at the designated spot, which is mentioned on the letter."

"I see, will that be all?"

"For the mission? Yes, about our conversation, no. So please take a seat, I'd like to discuss about Naruto's growth up until now."

"Well what can I say. There are lots of room for growth but he is a fast learner, quick to think up of strategies, has a good understanding of his surroundings, he can also adapt to his surroundings and situation quickly and make the battle go in his favour and something I really like about him is that he tries to assert dominance when he fights anyone in the battlefield, he does not go for the win from the start, his aim is to gain control of the battle and make it into a fight which he can control easily. But the biggest dilemma he is facing now is that he is not being able to adapt to any of the Kenjutsu styles I have showed him thus far."

"It seems like we have a prodigy at our hands. I will see about the problems with his Kenjutsu style. You may leave now."

Bowing to his Hokage, Shisui made his leave heading to meet up with his team near the East-Gate.

(Scene Shift: in front of the East-gate)

Cat, Crane, Monkey and Tiger stood behind the exit to the East-Gate of Konohagakure.

Just as one of them was about to complain a gentle voice came from behind them, "Hello there everyone."

The incomplete team of four turned around to see the man who has spoken to the Hokage a while back.

"Shisui-san?" Came the feminine voice of the blonde haired crane masked Anbu as she continued, "What brings you here?"

"Simple, due to Kakashi-senpai's absence I am your designated pentad leader for this particular mission. It's a pleasure meeting you all." Shisui answered with a bright smile on his face.

"I see, may we have the mission details leader." The cat masked Anbu asked showing respect to her leader.

"If you don't mind I would ask you to refrain calling me anything like leader or captain, I am not one for titles such as those, so treat me as you would treat your other comrades." Shisui said with his bright smile turning into a nervous one.

"Hai." Came the response of the one who questioned.

"And finally to answer your question, it seems that the Hokage too had not been informed much about this mission, as far as I can see this may be a trap by either Orochimaru or Kiri, or it was a hasty attempt at calling for help." Shisui answered the purplette's question and continued, "All we can do is go there and find out." Shisui finished with a thoughtful yet serious look on his face.

Four repetitions of "Hai" was what he got for response from each Anbu present there.

"Now before I hand out any instructions please introduce yourselves to me, as it would be allow me to give you a suitable roles for this mission."

The four Anbu went in turns introducing themselves to their assigned leader.

"Anbu ID no: 7538, blood type: AB-, gender: Female, Mission number: 753rd, specialty: Kenjutsu and high speed, chakra nature: Water. Anbu-Cat at your service."

"Anbu ID no: 8237, blood type: A+, gender: Female, mission number: 501st, speciality: Ninjutsu and Kenjutsu, chakra nature: Wind and Earth. Anbu-Crane at your service."

"Anbu ID no: 8303, blood type: O-, gender: Male, mission number: 384th, speciality: Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, chakra nature: Earth. Anbu-Monkey at your service."

"Anbu ID no: 9903, blood type: B-, gender: Male, mission number: 108th, speciality: Ninjutsu and Fuinjutsu, Chakra nature: Water and Earth, kekkei genkai: Wood release. Anbu-Tiger at your service."

"What a pleasant surprise, all of you sound like group of rare individuals here. Compared to you I am a very common person, allow me to introduce myself. Hi, my name is Uchiha Shisui, my Shinobi ID number is 5052, I have a blood group of O+, I am a Ninjutsu and Genjutsu specialist with a little experience in Fuinjutsu and Kenjutsu, my chakra Nature's are fire and lightning and lastly I have a kekkei genkai called the Sharingan which is the speciality of being a member of the Uchiha clan. Its a pleasure meeting all of you, I hope you can take good care of me." Shisui finished scratching the back of his head with a smile.

"Alright since that is done with let me assign your roles and the formation. We will be going in a 5-man Diamond formation. Leading the group would be Monkey, as your are a specialist in Taijutsu it would be better for you to charge head on rather then support flank, next as Cat and Crane would be holding the flanks, as you two are the fastest besides me and Monkey it would be ideal for you two to provide support to him when he charges, next I will be at the centre as I am the only one with any sort of sensing ability I will be a reliable source to gather information about our surroundings and finally Tiger would guard the rear and also provide support to the front along with me. Let me recall and simplify your roles, Monkey would be at the front for any head to head combats, Cat and Crane are support for Monkey, my job is to gather info and deliver to everyone while also being a back-up to the frontline and Tiger, your job is to act as the back-up to the whole team and also with your Wood Release you would be good for capturing any enemy Shinobi. So, am I clear everyone?"

"HAI!" all of the Anbu responded, making it seem as though only one had said it.

The surroundings changed from green to dark green and finally black then to green again, for the people present it all seemed like a blur. The deep rain forest barely let any light through and even if it did to the five rather quick individuals they could only look at the branches below them and the adjustments they had to do due to the rapid change of heights caused by their speed.

The aforementioned five fast individuals where the four Anbu, Monkey, Cat, Crane and Tiger, and one certain Uchiha. They where currently travelling in a diamond formation which consisted lf five people.

The cold air of the damp rainforest brushed across the face of the only unmasked person. His messy unkempt hair flowing due to the fast pace, everything seemed normal, if you don't count the man's sheer speed, and the fact that his eyes where a blood red with three comas in the centre, the tell-tale signs of a fully matured Sharingan.

As the five where travelling at a smooth pace, Shisui disappeared leaving absolutely no trace of him ever being there.

But before the one behind Shisui, Tiger, could react he heard a call coming from Monkey, "Heads up!"

It was not a call to alert his comrades, which it still did, rather it was so that he could get the attention of the two bandits in front of them. Which he did causing them to look up at him, but weirdly enough he did not do anything making them confused. Soon their confusion turned to nothing as they could not process any form of thought anymore, in other words they where immediately beheaded by two blurs that went past them, one purple and the other blonde.

The two landed on a patch of soft and wet grass which caused them to skid to a halt, due to the wetness of the grass. With Monkey, who had passed in-between the two bandits after getting their attention; standing between Cat and Crane. They shook the small amount of blood off of their Katana's before all three of them stood their in their respective stances, Cat's being a "Ko Gasumi"(short mist stance), Crane's being a simple "Chūdan-no-kamae"(middle-level posture) and Monkey just stood straight looking at the army of fifteen bandits in front of them.

"I will purge your horrific scent." Crane whispered to herself.

"Come on! Lets fight already!" Monkey said, showing his impatience at the face of a battle.

Tiger finally arrived standing behind them with his hands held in a way which would make it easier for him to use hand-seals at a very fast pace.

"Tiger, where is Shisui-san?" Cat asked in a demanding tone.

"I don't know. He just vanished." The one questioned replied.

"We will see into that later, as of now your are too assist us in our fight. Don't make a move until I tell you to, since the lea- I mean Shisui-san is missing I am in command. We will deal with them then eradicate the bandit camp in front." Cat ordered. Now being in charge of the team.

"Hai." Was the response she got from Tiger and the two others.

*CLANG* *CLANG* *CLANG* the sound of metal heating metal ringed throughout the battlefield.

"Metoro Konjiki, holder of the steel release bloodline. What is it that you want." The purple haired leader commandingly voiced out.

Grinning maliciously he spoke, "Well, well, well, if it isn't the tree huggers from the fire nation."

"But they are the Anbu." One of his partners objected.

"Shut the hell up! It doesn't matter if they are the anbu or some shitty team. We're gonna kill these bastards regardless."

"You foul-mouthed vermin, I will put an end to you right this ins-"

"Oh shut up, name a place with more stuck up pricks then in Konoha, I'll wait." Konjiki interrupted crane.

"I'll show you a stuck up prick." Monkey said out loud as he cracked his fingers.

"Bring it on Monkey boy!" Konjiki shouted out as his whole body became steel.

"Go!!!" Cat ordered loudly. Making all the Anbu except Tiger rush into battle

Monkey dashed at Konjiki. Their forearms collided eliciting a sound that would make anyone flinch. Both tried to overpower the other; adding more and more force, but all was for not as they stood in stalemate. Realising this both pushed themselves of and stood at a safe distance.

"You're fast I'll give you that" Konjiki said.

"Shut up and fight" came the reply from his opponent.

The Monkey masked Anbu immediately rushed back and delivered a kick to the metal boy's chin, causing him to stumble back. Using his other leg as a spring he jumped up and landed an axe-kick, making his opponent kneel on one of his knees. Moving his outstretched leg right under Konjiki's face Monkey did a backwards cart flip making his leg hit Konjiki's face, nose to be exact, which made him forcibly stand up.

Looking at him Monkey was a little shocked. 'All that for nothing?'

"Heh, surprised? Look at me dumbass I am literally metal. You really think kicks and punches will be enough to hurt me?" Konjiki said mockingly.

Cursing himself under his breath Monkey rushed back, trying to keep him occupied with several fast blows. 'The fact that I cannot hurt him-' A punch to the stomach is what he got for thinking about anything but the fight, 'Is distracting me'. His mind was distracted enough with the thought of not being able to land a damaging blow, but now his concentration was elsewhere, 'Think dammit!' he thought trying to overcome Konjiki's defence, somehow, anyhow, 'Come on think!' *PUNCH*, *BLOCK*, *KICK*, *BLOCK*, *PUNCH*, *BLOCK*, *PUNCH*, *BLOKE*, *KICK*, *BLOCK*. Punch after punch, kick after kick just kept getting blocked by the metallic body of Konjiki.

"All this work for nothing it's pointless, can't you see this is nothing to me." Konjiki taunted as his metallic body blocked several hits.

"HAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!" with all his might Monkey screamed one last punch out of himself. Which was caught cleanly in the grasps of Konjiki's metalized fingers and palm.

"My turn."

(SCENE SHIFT)

*CLANG* *CLING* *CLING* *CLANG* *CLANG*. Sparks flew around a different part of the opening as Cat faced of with the two demon brothers of the Mist. Both had a Kiri headband on with a slash going through them, both of them wore a cape, one brown the other black, which covered their entire body except their head. Their weapon, which was a rather queer one, was a gauntlet on their left and right hands respectively with a spiked metal chain connecting both of their gauntlets together.

One of them went left while the other went right, creating tension on their chain. Seeing her opportunity Cat pushed forward with her sword held vertically in front of her. A loud *CLANG* rang out through the battlefield. Not so long later the two brothers started loosing their grip on the ground and got flung back.

(SCENE SHIFT)

Crane went for one final slash at the Ice prison she was trapped in leaving a small scratch which soon was fixed and became a reflection of Crane's cracked mask which revealed her grey eyes looking at herself in distraught as eight ice needles came flying at her before the whole ice dome cracked and collapsed into tiny crystal like Ice shards.

All four of the Anbu present looked at the alluring presence of their missing member who was now standing beside Tiger with his hair covering both his eyes. His presence alone caused every single brawl happening at that place to come to a halt. The calm and collected yet dangerously menacing aura being emitted by him, was something that even made the Anbu feel a sharp tingle go down their spine. His all black attire with a brown shoulder vest was almost fully painted red, the only thing smelling more metallic than him was Konjiki's metalized body. "Is this what you pests call a fight?" He said lifting his head up to reveal the famed Sharingan in all its matured glory with its three tomoe spinning counter clock-wise, with a menacing red hue to it, the right side glowed an almost luminescent shade of red through the man's hair which was partially covering his right eye.

"What did you call me!" Raged the metallic boy.

A small sinister smirk crossed his lips when he saw Konjiki sprinting towards him a hard and heavy metallic punch ready to strike. "All pests should be exterminated."
