"You know how the straightest men like to flirt with each other ?"

We were unable to communicate with Mehmet and Lieutenant Watch. Sergeant Pensée even came up to check on them and only came back alone. We came back to the MFR base with two empty seats in our vehicles.

We were all following the french Captain to the armory room, he seemed awfully stressed like I have never seen before. Needless to say I was pretty much in the same state too.  When we all entered the room, Captain Price closed the door, and Captain Monster started speaking.

"On fait quoi ?"
(What should we do ?)

Since neither Pensée nor I answered his question, I translated it to my other colleagues, hoping they would randomly have a detailed answer. They all turned to each other and made eye contact, except for König. Captain Price shook his head, Sergeant Soap and Sergeant Gaz shrugged, Lieutenant Ghost stayed the same.

"Personne n'a de réponse ?"
(Nobody has an answer ?)

I stayed silent. The silence took over the room for a full 10 seconds, all I could do was look at the ground and hope someone would break it.

The sound that broke the silence was Captain Monster's sob. I raised my head towards him, it was the first time I have seen him tearing up.

"Partez, partez, vous pouvez dégager même."
(Go, go, you can even fuck off.)

I made the gesture for everyone to leave. We got out and parted to our room, or the break room for a drink. I left to my room, alone.

It left me thinking, if the cold blooded, stoic and strong man cried, when will I ? I don't really care much about the Lieutenant Watch, but I care about Mehmet as if we shared the same blood.

I started to reminisce about the time he taught me how to handle a gun. Or how to properly make a bed. There was even a time we cooked together around a campfire in a cold evening.

Remembering about these little things made me smile, once I noticed it I immediately stopped, not wanting anyone to see me smiling like an idiot for no obvious reason.

And I cried. Tears started swelling up in my eyes and I felt stupid for it. Feeling stupid for crying over a lost brother, again.

The ambiant sounds were now purely made of my sobs, that I tried to quiet down. Until a song chimed in, the sound of my phone ringing.

I made sure to compose myself and looked over at my phone, it was a masked number calling me. I answered the phone and made sure my voice wouldn't crack :

"Allo ?"
[A french word to answer a call.]

"C'est moi."
(It's me.)

Lieutenant Watch.

"Met moi en haut parleur pour les français."
(Put me on speaker for the french people)

I wiped my tears and tried to rush to the others, to not make it as awkward as possible for me, since I have always hated phone calls, especially with people I didn't like.

The first person I saw was the Sergeant Pensée, sat on a couch, playing a game on her phone, I gestured to her to follow me, which she did. I then silently thought about where the french Captain should be, and found myself walking towards the armory, I opened the door and he was indeed there.

I put my phone on speaker, as I was previously asked to.

"Vous êtes en haut parleur."
(You're on speaker)

"Très bien, maintenant va te faire foutre."
(Very good, now fuck off.)

All three of us got surprised by his bluntness, the Sergeant and the Captain were telling me to stay, I shrugged and just left the room.
