The Sinestro Lantern Corps of Fear was built out of spite for the Green Lantern Corps. Former Green Lantern of Sector 1417, Thaal Sinestro, was banished from the corps after the Guardians of the Universe learned that he had established a dictatorship on his home planet Ungara. With his people rebelling against him, his wife being killed in a terrorist attack, and his daughter missing after being put up for adoption, Sinestro was caught off guard by the Guardians' arrival as they banished him to the Antimatter Universe. There, Sinestro was able to convince the Weaponers of Qward, who he had previously defeated, to create a new power ring for him and his new followers.
Sinestro sees himself as a bit of a God amongst men, believing that his powers could be used to create a paradise on his home planet. He sees himself as above others, seen in his insistence to be in a leadership position whenever possible. He rules ruthlessly and unapologetically, with everyone under his command being forced to follow his rules or be rejected. The Corps' name and oath reflect this, with both mentioning Sinestro instead of the yellow light he draws power from. Batman was once offered to join the Sinestro Corps by a Yellow Lantern Ring, but he was rejected solely because he refused to follow Sinestro's rule. He was later able to use a Yellow Lantern Ring, however, proving that Batman truly could become a Yellow Lantern.
Just as Sinestro is a ruthless killer, many of the Sinestro Lantern Corps are as well. Many of the Corps' members kill in Sinestro's name, but they are also willing to turn against him if it proves beneficial for them, as seen when he was made a Green Lantern again after Krona's death. The Sinestro Corps does not simply have the ability to instill great fear, but they also understand it and use it in effective and creative ways. This is why my candidate for the Sinestro Corps is... Tyrian Callows.
Tyrian thrives off of spreading chaos and he is a master of his craft. He is a ruthless serial killer who made a name for himself even before being recruited by Salem. In fact, Salem is the primary reason that I put Tyrian in the Fear Lantern Corps to begin with. While most people, including most of her underlings, fear Salem, Tyrian sees her and her work as beautiful and worships her as his goddess. He kills, maims, and performs unspeakable acts in her name, and he does it all with a twisted smile on his face.
Tyrian is not just a mindless lap dog, though. His skills and brutality do not come from Salem, but from his own twisted past that made him into a man that Salem saw as valuable. Tyrian had a history of violent crime all throughout Anima, and he had an impressive ability to avoid capture throughout his career. Even being an older man under Salem, he still boasts incredible acrobatic ability and stealth rivaling characters like Blake and Ilia.
His unique ability to secrete a potent poison from his scorpion tail is made even more terrifying when combined with his Semblance, Aura Disruption, which allows Tyrian to bypass a victim's aura with his attacks. His eyes glow purple when his semblance is activated, which gives his victim a moment to react, but often only scares them more.
His ruthlessness and effectiveness combined with his insanity have made Tyrian Callows a perfect candidate to wield the Yellow Light of Fear.
