Cold rain woke him up soon after. Right, it was just a dream. But the pain in his heart was real, all his feelings were. Shivering he tried to get up. All his clothes were drenched. "...haitham. Alhaitham." He forced himself to walk, one step after another. Just one more, one more.

A
Alhaitham dashed through the night. Someone outside the tavern had told him Kaveh got a big job in the desert and should return from Aaru village now. If course he would take the easiest route, which left only one option. He had never run this fast in his entire life. His lungs burned and his clothes were soon soaked from the constant rain. 'Kaveh', he thought. 'Kaveh...' Could Cyno have hit the bullseye with his example? No way, it was just a wild guess. But the rain, the cold. Why did he let him go? Why didn't he realize sooner that the... that he loved him? "Damn it Kaveh, you idiot!", he screamed. Maybe he had stayed at the tavern at Caravan Ribat. He better did in this weather.

Stumbling Kaveh moved forward, his vision blurry from tears and the impact of the cold. He needed to find shelter. But where? Amidst a gigantic first with Hilichurls and Fungi as its only inhabitants.
Speak of the devil. The rain must have lured a bunch of hydro Fungi into the area. "Go... away..." He waved his claymore halfheartedly around him. Mehrak helped him repulse the enemies, with little success. His head went dizzy as his body temperature slowly dropped. Flickering lights appeared in his vision. "Al...haitham... I'm sorry...", he whispered. Somewhere in the distance he heard a familiar voice calling his name. Probably hallucination. Then he passed out.

A
Alhaitham noticed a bunch of hydro fungi circling on the ground in a strange way. The rain must have brought them out but there was something weird about this situation. Slowly he sneaked closer. A sudden noise beside his ear made him shriek. "Mehrak?" The electric suitcase squeaked excited. If Mehrak was here, then... Immediately he drew his sword and sliced the fungi. "Kaveh!" He let himself fall to his knees to have a closer look at the blonde man. "Kaveh, no!" His hands were ice cold. "No no no no no!", he swore. Without thinking he took the wounded man in his arms and started running again. It wasn't that far to Caravan Ribat. He should be able to make it. Please, he thought, just let him survive this.
A strand of wet hair fell against his neck. Suddenly he became awfully conscious of the situation. His one hand around Kaveh's waist, Kaveh's head against his chest. His own heartbeat do loud, he could barely hear anything else. "Just what are you doing to me?", he whispered. Kaveh moaned in pain and Alhaitham tightened his grip around him. "I'm going to save you, Kaveh, I promise." He was afraid, scared, scared as he had never been before, scared to loose someone for the first time in his life. What would have been if he never talked to Cyno? If he hadn't gone to find him? He couldn't bear imagining that. "Kaveh, I'm so sorry."
