Kaveh moaned as he woke up. His head hurt unbearably. Then he stopped for a moment. This wasn't the forest. What in all ot Teyvat...? His whole body ached when he tried to move. The fungi, the voice, what... Then his gaze fell on something - someone - holding his hand while sleeping beside the bed. "Alhaitham?!" The guy shrieked up. "Kaveh!" He immediately hugged the blonde man, which left him puzzled. Was this a dream again? Was he dead? "I was so worried you might... I..." Alhaitham wanted to hug him again but he pushed him back. "What... I mean how... I mean why...?" Kaveh's mind was spinning. What was he doing here, hugging him, telling him he was worried. This would only get his hopes up. Just because he felt that way didn't mean Alhaitham also did. In his dream, he vanished after Kaveh had told him. What if this happened again? Why would he love him anyway? He was annoying, moody, impulsive, immature, childish, broke and a guy. How much of a miracle would this take?

Oh no. After all this talk with Cyno, he had completely forgotten to consider Kaveh's feelings. Maybe he did not feel the same way. Maybe he had a problem with him being a guy. What should he do? Tell him and maybe scare him away forever? Not telling him? Calm down, Alhaitham. You are the rational mind here. Think! But this wasn't rational, emotions are not. But you need to take chances and sometimes risks to achieve something. Now go, say it, you fool, you coward. Grand Sage to hell, when you can't even tell the one you love how you feel. He took a deep breath, then opened his mouth.

Note:
Short chapter, sorry, but the rest was too long to put it in one 😅 and I wanted to keep that little cliffhanger. I guess it's obvious, what will happen but still, it's so funny.
