"The Heart Wants What It Wants" Selena Gomez
INSANELY IMPORTANT RIGHT HERE NO JOKE READ IT:
When I finish Luna ( I changed the plot for Legacy which was going to be part of the trilogy but is not going to be a separate story...about Stark and Katya's kid ;) anyways, once this story is complete, I will combine Luna and Lycan into a two part story in one book which will be published soon. I haven't worked out the details, but it'll probably be available online once it does get published.
Since it's my birthday tomorrow, I've decided to post a chapter today (since most of you will have read it by tomorrow or gotten the notification for this chapter). Deadline to come back to consist chapters still remains at June 15.

Adrenaline coursing through my veins was the norm. But this? The sensation of my limbs screaming and my heart slamming against my rib cage like a caged animal? That wasn't normal adrenaline. I felt like I had been injected with werewolf steroids and topped it off with vodka which added to my parched throat.
I wanted to take a break, but I knew the moment I did; Sta- Xerxes would find me. And I would be screwed.
Pain was no longer and issue as I felt the sharp course of endorphin pump in my blood cells, gasping for oxygen.
I was gasping for it too. I chanced a quick look over my shoulder- I had hiked up the hill pretty fast- the port with Stark's lone boat was but a speck.
But I knew better than to be safe with distance.
Xerxes was faster than me- not as fast as Castor, but damn close. He could be tracking my scent in no time.
My scent. My scent.
Realizing my mistake, I got down to my bare necessities quicker than a stripper about to be fanned with Benjamins.
Shifting never got easier, but I managed to scrape by without groaning.
My ears perked up at the sound of birds flocking from my left. It was him. A small wolf like me had no chance against a Lycan's van-sized wolf frame. I'd be crushed.
Snatching my sweat-soaked clothes, I scattered them- some snagged on branches and others buried in bushes. Then I ripped through the forest, searching for some sliver of hope.
I couldn't get caught by him. Protecting me? What was he thinking? I can hold out on myself, not to mention he's working for the enemy now...
I held back a piercing howl at those words.
He wasn't the same Lycan I had met in the woods who critiqued my form and gave me advice when I was about to nail his jaw with my heels. He wasn't the one who threw his wedding ring in the ocean when we were in Spain, just to prove that he wanted to be with me. He's the not one who had a cursed tattoo on his back that wouldn't fade until he loved someone other than Kathleen.
My heart panged when I finally said it out loud. He hasn't said the three words...he's still desperately clinging onto the memory of Kathleen, but I couldn't blame him. Losing a baby wasn't something I'd wish on my worst enemy, yet here he was trying to piece his shattered past and broken heart just for me.
And what was I doing?
Pushing him away. Denying him when, even though he denied me, first I should've been fighting for him- make him see his worth. Even with his tough exterior, I knew he was sensitive guy when it came to his feelings. I saw how he instantly jumped to the conclusion that I would be disgusted by his affinity for blood.
