-- 12 YEARS LATER / STARK's POV--
"STARK!"
My eyebrow twitched at my wife's voice.
"Yes, mea lux." I answered tiredly, removing my glasses as she entered the villa in Sicily. The triplets and her mother had gone back to Russia after the war had ended, and left the villa for us.phni
I noticed her angry stance before I took in her beauty.
With her hip popped out and her hand on said hip, she looked like a fierce warrior. It didn't help that her long curly waves were now cut to her chin.
"Jazz and Draver told me the truth."
I stiffened up, slowly moving towards the corridor that led to the backyard for a quick escape route.
"Is it true?" she hissed, her eyes flashing a bright silver for a brief second, a trait that appeared when she was getting ready to use some of the powers she inherited from her biological mother. "DID YOU TELL OUR DAUGHTER TO PUNCH ANY GUY THAT CAME WITHIN 3 FEET OF HER?"
The gentle herbs that Katya and our daughter grew in the kitchen came to life, wrapping around my neck as she dragged me to the living room.
"SERIOUSLY, STARK? SHE'S 7, SHE DOESN'T NEED TO NAIL EVERY GUY IN THE FACE JUST BECAUSE THEY GET TOO CLOSE."
I growled at her tone, "Don't yell at me, I'm only educating her on what is right. And you need to calm down, PMSing isn't a good look for you."
I tried to get up from the floor, but as I stood up a random pine cone got in my way and I flipped back like I slid on a banana feel. HOW DO THEY EVEN GET INSIDE THE DAMN HOUSE?
Katya scoffed, "Oh you did not just say that to me-"
Suddenly my precious ray of sunshine darted in front of me, holding her short olive arms out.
"MOMMY NOOOOOOO!"
Katya's face softened when she saw our daughter.
"Sunshine, what are you doing up?"
She looped her small arms around Katya's left leg, her own short legs wrapping around like a monkey. "Stark and I are playing charades. Don't kill him yet, I have to win first!"
Katya's evil laugh matched our daughter's as she removed the herbs with a flick of her wrist, returning it to the original length stored in wooden planter boxes mounted in the kitchen.
I stood up and scooped our sunshine into my embrace.
"I'll make dinner-"
"No need, I've already made it." I jerked my chin to our small dining table that was already set up.
Katya narrowed her eyes, telling me that she still didn't forgive me, but she was going to let me off the hook tonight.
"Lux, why don't you go take a bath while Stark and I have an adult talk, okay?"
Her precious blue eyes peeked out at me before she stuck her tongue out and wriggled from my arms.
Katya and I both waited until we heard the shower running before we collapsed on the couch in the living room.
"Being a stay at home dad suits you." Katya commented as I rubbed her shoulders.
I rolled my eyes, looking down at her beautiful face. Below that, I saw her necklace that she never failed to take off, and below that...
"My eyes are up here, Stark."
I swept her into my lap and she wrapped her arms around my shoulders. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have told Lux to punch any guy that comes within 3 feet of her."
She gave me a "no duh" look. "Of course not, she got in trouble today. I got a phone call from her school saying that she punched her teacher in the butt."
I bit back a grin. That's my girl.
"I'm getting worried though. Kendra said that she's sick. I mean, she hasn't showed signs of shifting or getting territorial- none of the traits of a werewolf. I think we should remove her from the human school. What if it all just snaps at once instead of overtime and she shifts in the middle of class? She could hurt a lot of people, or worse, she herself could be hurt-"
My phone ringing from the coffee table drew our attention. I picked up it, answering immediately.
"Kendra? What is it?"
"Speaker phone. Now."
I handed Katya the phone as she got off my lap to sit beside me. She tapped the speaker icon and Kendra's voice was a lot louder.
"-and now I'm getting flashes of it and it's all happening at once."
"Wait, start over." Katya tucked a chocolate strand behind her small ears.
Kendra took a shaky breath. "Ever since Kaleesi died, I've been having these premonitions, of the future. And I realized that it was her power being transferred to me. I know the prophecies and I interpret them. And oh goddess, Katya. I think this prophecy is about Lux."
My blood froze. "Are you sure? That it's Lux?"
Kendra swallowed audibly. "I keep getting flashes of her, and there's a guy with her and me. I'm with her. And something bad is going to happen when she's 21, Stark. Something really bad."
"Is there any lines that you can interpret from the prophecy?" Katya scrambled for a pen and paper.
"There's one line. But there's so many meanings to it that I don't know how to even begin to interpret it-"
"Just tell us." I cut in quickly. "We can figure this out together."
"Well, the voices keep saying that- that she's the Legacy of the Royals."
Katya and I both looked at each other before Lux appeared.
"Are we still going to play charades? Is dinner ready?" a yawn stretched from her mouth as she ruffled her own light blond hair.
In that moment, Katya and I both made a mental vow to keep Lux safe from the prophecy, no matter the cost.
"Well, after dinner, we're going to be going on a trip." Katya stood up abruptly. I could see the gears turning in that beautiful head of hers.
"Where to?" Lux questioned, settling into her chair at the dining table.
I sat beside her, watching her cornflower blue eyes widen when I said:
"Ireland."
~
That's it fam.
THATS IT
Okay,
if you couldn't figure out:
The next book, which will be a stand alone separate book, will be about Stark and Katya's daughter (Lux) More details will be in the next chapter, as well as Jazz/Draver/Faye story.
SO BASICALLY that means that is the end of Katya and Stark's journey.
But next is Lux's journey, and Faye's journey. So stick around for that. It won't be as long as Katya's journey though, but it will definitely have a lot more cliff hangers ;)
