DAPHNE: I ended up at the studio quite late.
TEDDY: She wasn't just late, she'd gotten there about 3/4 through it.
DAISY: I was told I recorded a demo version of Haunted so that we could show the band the vision. I was counting down till Daphne got there because while I didn't know the importance of the song to her, I knew she would lose her shit if it wasn't her on the album.
Meanwhile, I'd finished Regret Me. Wrote it about them after all. Billy was pissed and stormed out but the band pushed through, we recorded it and he'd go on to record his parts later.
DAPHNE: As I got out of my car, I saw Jonah and Billy and the parking lot. Billy was mad, he was yelling at Jonah. I heard something about his daughter.
I knew better than to get involved.
JONAH: Billy looked like he wanted to run after her, but he knew that wasn't going to help his case with me... We were discussing the first Rolling Stone article, the hook, what shouldn't be written about...
DAISY: All hell broke loose when she came in. For once, it wasn't me. Technically it was when Billy came back in, 'cus she recorded her guitar sections fine for Regret Me.
EDDIE: I'd never seen her so enraged yet so weak at the same time. Her body was shutting down yet her mouth ran far.
WARREN: Her and Billy tore the roof down arguing about Haunted, about the album. None of it made sense though, it just felt like they wanted to argue.
BILLY: I was frustrated.
DAPHNE: I was frustrated.
Teddy walked in like he was grounding us, he sent me off to another recording room to go work on my own stuff. He said I was done for Aurora, that I'd recorded what I needed to. Obviously he was lying but I couldn't argue with him in that particular moment.
I did warn him though. I told him Haunted was mine.
BILLY: He made me record my parts of Regret Me.
And the Aurora sessions ended ended for the band a day later. That next day I wandered around trying to find Daphne in the studio to apologise. I figured out which one she was in and poked the door barely open.
I stood and listened for a couple minutes. I couldn't not. But then I also couldn't bring myself to walk in.
DAPHNE: I tried to focus my anger into an EP. If all else failed, I still had a number one song and a radio willing to play the next one. I needed to use it.
ROD: The Six were starting their three week break before tour rehearsals so I really kicked Daphne in to gear the best I could. And it was especially hard with the article and the fact that Daisy Jones was frolicking in Greece.
