ANDREA: It was like the entire stadium had gone up in flames.
KAREN: I mean, we sounded fucking cool. And Daphne had this enraged aura about her, she was playing this role so well. She had everyone in the palm of her hands.
DAPHNE: I knew I probably wasn't going to have the stage for long 'cus Billy would realise what was probably going on. I didn't have all of the song done anyway, so I went in with a cut version.
I started out soft.
——
It was the best of times, the worst of crimes
I struck a match and blew your mind,
but I didn't mean it and you didn't see it.——
DAISY: One of my favorite songs.
WARREN: My drums were on point for sure.
TYLER: She has an infectious stage presence.
——
We were jet-set, Bonnie
and Clyde, oh-oh
Until I switched to the other
side, to the other sideIt's no surprised I turned you in,
Cus us traitors never win.I'm in a getaway car,
I left you in the hotel bar,——
DAISY: Here comes the moment. The one everyone rewatches.
——
BILLY WAS PLAYED HIS PART, his guitar, Eddie's and Graham's were in perfect harmony for her.
Daphne's final note faded, all quiet but her and Warren now. She walked to Billy's side of the stage in a strut, "Put the money in the bag and I stole the keys."
She placed her head on his shoulder as she sung, only lifting her eyes and head when she sang, "This is the last time you'll ever see me."
Daphne watched as his face went pale, Warren waiting for Daphne's cue as per request on his sheet music. She held the mic to her mouth again, playing with its grip as the sparkles of her costume reflected against the lights. Daphne finally opened her mouth, right into the mic, "Go home to your wife, Billy Dunne."
He gently took his guitar off, tears rolling down his cheek as he ran. He ran to save his marriage.
Warren went straight in, Daisy coming in background as she had been, "Driving the getaway car! We were flying but we'd never get far. Don't pretend! Don't pretend it's such a mystery..."
