The soup was thick, the gravy was runny, the veg was leafy, the potatoes were fluffy and the meat was lean. The meal was an informal gathering of the Scarletts, where everyone talked to everyone else while they ate until there was no food cooked to eat or no drink poured to drink. Often music would play or stories would be told - or half told. Laughter would echo through the woods for this single hour without a single doubt every evening because breakfast was done in a daze and lunch in a hurry.

However this evening was much quieter that usual, perhaps it was the absence of three members or maybe it was the worry of the remainder that lead to the silence, however without clarification it was still there. Fionulla sat nearest the fire with Peggy supportively by her side, the rest were scattered randomly, the Scarletts camp was a number of quickly built stone-huts on the side of a small slope which lead to trees that sheltered them and looked down on a slope of trees which hid them from paths made by generations near and far.

Seth was still unconscious, it had been six hours now and Joe joined the group, took a plate and filled it with food, he even in this stressful time still had an appetite that would put some to shame and question his mental stability.

"Where's my Father??" asked Amber as though she only noticed his absence.

"Where's my baby..my defenseless baby and my magnificant husband??" asked Fionulla but it seemed more like a boast than a question.

"Who wants tea?" asked Sarah trying to change the subject.

"Thanks Ma'am" said Congurgio half out of also wanting to change the topic of conversation and half out of wanting tea.

"Is Colm....dead???" asked Beageen to his mother dangerously near to Fionulla.

"NOOOOOOOOOO" they both snapped at him quickly.

"Ara, Om will find him., he found a piece of hay in a massive bundle of needles once!!" said Joe supportively.

"Tea, Joe?!" asked Sarah.

"Thanks love" replied Joe as he held out his cup.

"Don't eat to fast Beth!!!" said Sarah "you'll choke"

"Sorry mom" said Beth.

"Dya wanna say a rosary or something??" asked Rev

"Nah" said Justin to avoid the awkward of seeming more into it or disrespectful that the other.

"Was that a fairy, I saw just there" asked Gonso trying to avoid talking about Colm, or Om or worst in his mind the rosary.

"A fairy!!" said Agatha "I doubt it, I wouldn't be surprised if they were extinct, certainly around here, they are very feeble in the cold, wings freeze easily and these woods are too overgrown for them, they'd snap a wing in seconds in here"

"....Just though it was a fairy" said Gonso

"This "War" has really changed the niche and environment of the country, no dragons, no gassy elves, no polrus', no fairies and definately no pixies!!" said Agatha with enphysis

"My father saw a dragon once!!" said Joe "BEAUTIFUL, flew over him while he was fishing in the Literon Lake, must be 50 years ago now, I've never seen one though, I wish I could, he left me a book "HOW TO CARE FOR A DRAGON -  THE 87 DOES AND THE 113 DON'T"

"COOOOL" said Smith and Simm together.

"Don't- number 53 - examine it's teeth while it's awake....or asleep" said Joe.

"Excuse me" said Fionulla "the camp is a mess everyone is either messing or unconscious, or cursed and you re just raimeasing about bleedin' dragons" she was raging.

"Tea... before it's cold" said Sarah

"Shut up with your blast'd tea!!!" shouted Fionulla,

"Jaysus, it's only by chance I asked when you were talkin', sure ya haven t stopped complaining all day" said Sarah in a mothering voice.

"Calm down" said Joe "we need to wait and see what happens Fionnulla......Congurgio your on watch till midnight"

"Riight" he said as he walked in the direction of the bridge where the kids had been attacked earlier.

Just then Fury flew into the camp and repeated the message he got earlier and when he finished he acted as though he said nothing and flew into Om's hut.

"Come on men, we need to plan" said a voice, it was Seth who had woken from his hex.

"Yes" said Rev "LET'S PLAN"
