"Uh... sorry about Rudes. She can get a little... overwhelming."
I walked beside Steve as Nat and Rudy were in front of us. Steve let out a light laugh.
"Don't worry about it, kid." He pat my shoulder.
Eventually, we made it to some sort of lab where they put Rudy on a medical chair. A doctor put a tube into her arm and took a bit of her blood to examine. After almost an hour of sitting and waiting, the doctor finally came back.
"We did some tests on the body that you poisoned last night and with your blood." The doctor walked over to Rudy with a tablet in hand.
"It seems as though when you puncture your two claws into their skin, a black substance travels into their bloodstream, causing distruction to the blood cells and forming the organs into a black substance."
Most of us gave him a dumbfounded expression. He gave us an unimpressed face back.
"Basically, it turns their insides into mush."
"Ohhh." We said in unison.
Rudy looked at her arm in amazement. "Awesome."
The doctor looked at her concerned for her. So did Steve. I chuckled at her.
"To my studies, the poison shouldn't be able to kill superhumans, but it will still affect the area that she punctures. It'll still make your blood black in the area, but it'll only make you slightly sick."
"Well, that's a bummer."
The doctor chuckled a little and took the tube out of her arm.
"Your blood isn't like any normal blood type. It's contaminated by some sort of drug. It turned your blood into a constant poison that doesn't affect you."
"My old boss gave me the drugs. It's how I have these spider powers."
"He sure wasn't a good boss then."
Of course, the boss is brought up.
Rudy stayed quiet and looked away a little. I walked over beside her and gave her a light smile. She smiled back.
"She should have about an hour to rest before training. Taking blood makes people pretty drousy and dizzy. So overworking her right now would hurt her health." The doctor explained with a smile and helped Rudy up off of the seat.
Rudy stumbled for a second but then grabbed onto my arm for support.
"Thanks, Dr. Taltga." Steve shook his hand.
"It's a pleasure, Captain. I still need to run a few tests, so don't do anything crazy just yet."
"Sure thing, doctor."
We left the office and went for the common area to wait off Rudy's drowsiness. We sat down on a few of the couches. I'm pretty sure Rudy fell asleep again.
I'm pretty sure she's secretly a panda.
"You two have been doing pretty good in your training." Steve randomly blurted as he held his head up with his hand.
"Thanks. We try."
"Do you mind telling us where all her anger issues started?" Nat added on.
Great. I can't tell them that. I mean, it pretty much was because of the boss, but... I can't tell them the whole thing.
"Well...uh... I'm not sure. A lot of things happened to her, but she only really started being different when we moved to the mafia. So I'd say around then."
