Flashback of el coming back from the upside down after killing the Demogorgon 

Hopper is making food, and y/n is sat at the table reading in his ghostbusters outfit.
"oh! jesus!" Hopper exclaims, making y/n jump, seeing el in her 'ghost' costume
"ghost" She tells him
"yeah i see that" Hopper sighs, moving over to the table
"Halloween" She then says
"sure is. But right now, it's breakfast, okay? Come on, let's eat" Hop tells her. 
"They wouldn't see me" She says, hopper turning to her.
"who wouldn't see you?" hopper asked, walking to the table
"The bad men" She answers
"What are you talking about?" He puts the food on the table
"Thanks" Y/n said
"trick or treat" She said, standing infront of hop who just sat down
"you want to go trick-or-treating?" Hop asked her, she nodded. "You know the rules." 
"Yes- but-"
"yeah, so you know the answer" Hop stood up
"no, but they wouldn't see me." Hop was now slowly pushing el to her seat
"no. Hey. I don't care." 
"But they wouldn't see me." 
"I don't care, all right?"
"Y/n gets to go!" 
"well-" Y/n starts
"He doesn't have powers alright." Hop replied, el looked at y/n, who looked at her ashamed and sad. You go out there ghost or not, it's a risk. We don't take risks. All right? They're stupid, and..." 
"we're not stupid" El and Y/n said at the same time, el saying it with more emotion than y/n.
"exactly. Now you take that off, sit down and eat. Your food's getting cold." El took the sheet off her head, hop sitting down then her. 
"The costume is great, el" Y/n smiled, she smiled back abit, still very obviously annoyed. Hop poured some syrup on her food, then y/ns then his, but el just sits there and doesn't eat it. 
"All right, look... How about I get off early tonight, and I buy us a bunch of candy, and the three of us can sit around and get fat, and we watch a scary movie together? How's that for a compromise?" Hop tries to meet her in the middle.
"Compromise?" She stutters 
"c-o-m-promise. compromise" Hop said
"Well she obviously knows how to say it" Y/n told him, eating his food, Hop sighed
"How about that's your word for the day? Yeah? It's something that's kinda in-between. It's like halfway happy." Hop tells her
"By 5-1-5?" 
"5:15. Yeah, sure." Hop nods to her, y/n knew he obviously wasn't doing that and was just gonna go trick or treating with the party instead.
"promise?" 
"yes. I promise" 
"half-way happy." She answered. Hop smiled and ruffled her hair and she chuckled. Whenever something like this happened y/n felt jealous. El was very obviously everyone elses favourite, it was probably because her powers and he was just like 'everyone else' the 'twin' that just... wasn't cool. which was another reason he didn't think he would ever tell anyone about his powers. To make sure el always had it better than him, because as her older brother, he cared about her more than anyone else in the world. 

"who you gonna call" Y/n heard the group saying as y/n went over on his skateboard
"ghostbusters!" will exclaimed 
"hey, Spengler!" Will exclaimed
"Egon! Yeah!" Lucas exclaimed hugging will
"Venkman!" Will grinned. Y/n was now stood with them
"whoa! whoa!" Mike started
"what mike?" Y/n asked confused
"why are you Venkman?" Mike asked
"Because I'm Venkman"
"no, I'm Venkman"
"Why can't there just be 2 Venkmans?" will asked
"yeah, there has to be 2 of someone either way?" Y/n said
"Well because there's only one Venkman in real life. We planned this months ago. Dustin's Stanz. you're Egon, you're Winston, and Y/n was anyone he wanted to be" 
"I specifically didn't agree to Winston, so I told y/n to be him!" Lucas told Mike, everybody now realising Y/n was infact Winston
"Yes, you did!"
"I don't think he did" Will agreed
"Nobody really wants to be Winston, man" Lucas said
"What's wrong with Winston?"   
"What's wrong with Winston? He joined the team super late, he's not funny and he's not even a scientist!" 
"Oh, I see what's happening here, thanks for the ego boost." Y/n rolled his eyes, walking away from the group.
"Now look at what you've done!" Mike exclaimed
"What I've done? That's your own fault!" Lucas argues back.  
"Y/n?" Will shouts over to him.

In the corridor he's walking through and suddenly he's pushed over.
"Hey!" Y/n grunted as he hit the floor.
"Look at this geek" One of the kids laughed
"He looks so mad. How cute" The other one said. Y/n quickly got up and pushed one again the locker
"You wanna fucking speak to me like that?" Y/n was obviously now using all his build up anger on these 2 kids
"Get of him" One said pulling y/n back, But he elbowed him in the stomach and punched the other kid in the face. He groaned and punched y/n back. Y/n got the kid against the locker again, punching him over and over again. The other kid that he elbowed grabbing him and putting him in a headlock, choking him, allowing the other kid to punch him again, Y/n head butted the one grabbing him and once he let go elbowed him in the face, using his power to break the kid infront of hims foot. He screamed in agony and the kid behind y/n groaned in pain, there was a crowd around them who were obviously wanting this to happen. 
"who you gonna call? The nerds!" Y/n heard, looking over. This is when another kid kicked him in his back, making him fall over
"Wait- is that?" he herd mike say
"y/n!" Will exclaimed. Running over, seeing him on the floor and another kid ontop of him, choking him again. A teacher coming over and breaking it up. The kid above y/n being pulled up and y/n being helped up by will. Most kids had moved away except the 3 who were also involved.
"What the fuck Troy! Don't you remember what we told you" Dustin told him. 
"I-I didn't know he was your friend!" Troy said worried. 
"Okay you 4 with me! Now!" The principle said 

Y/n was sat waiting for Hop. But apparently he wasn't coming as he wasn't picking up the phone, so he just skated home. 

"Trick or treat!" The party exclaimed, will recording. 
"well, aren't you cute? The little exterminators." The women said. The party look amongst each other and all of them take a handful of sweets

"If I get another 3 Musketeers, I'm gonna kill myself." Lucas sighed, as they walked along the grass.
"What's wrong with 3 musketeers?" Dustin asked
"What's wrong with 3 musketeers?" Lucas repeated
"No one likes 3 Musketeers" Mike said
"Yeah, it's just nougat" Will also agreed
"Woah, just nougat? Just nougat? It is top three for me." Dustin exclaimed
"top three?" Lucas asked
"Top three!" 
"more like top thirty, on a good day. Nougat tastes worst than hops cooking" Y/n said.
"no! Nougats great!" 
"Oh, God. Give me a break." Mike sighed
 "Seriously, I can just eat a whole bowl of nougat. Straight up."
"ew-" Suddenly someone in a Michael Myers costume jumped Infront of them, growling, the party started screaming, except Y/n who didn't give a shit. Then the person starts laughing. 
"Holy shit! You should have see the look on your faces. And you? Who screams like that? You sound like a little girl." Max said, taking the max off, y/n chuckling. 
"That was awesome Max" Y/n grinned, putting his arm around maxes shoulder and starting to walk away. Then hearing the party not walking with them he turns around.
"You guys coming?" He asked, Max looking at them too
"Oh, I heard we should hit up Loch Nora. That's where the rich people live right?" Max chuckled
"Yeah it is" Y/n grinned turning around, his arm still around maxes shoulder, the two of them emerging into immediate conversation, like they had been mates for years.

"another full-size. Like, seriously, rich people are such suckers." Dustin said ahead of them. 
"you okay y/n? you seem off today." Will asked, the two of them walking behind mike
"I'm fine." He answered
"Are you su-" Will started
"Will. I'm fine." He told will. He was getting the point of stop it. He got his camera out and started recording max, dustin and lucas. Then he pans to mike
"did either of you agree to this?" Mike asked looking to Max almost in disgust.
"what?" Will asked, putting his camera down
"to her, joining our party." Mike replied 
"Stop being such a douche mike! It's literally just for Halloween, plus. Max is actually very funny so maybe you should take some lessons from her because your clearly not" Y/n exclaimed to mike, the last part making will laugh, but he muffled it with his sleeve
"well you should have checked with me." Mike answered, rolling his eyes
"well they were excited. I guess I thought you'd be okay with it." Will answered him
"Either way, if will said yes or not our party is a democracy so why does it matter so much that you don't want it" Y/n scoffed
"You're acting like you aren't completely new to the party" Mike argued with him
"Well so is El and you don't act like she's new" 
"Well she has powers and you don't" Mike exclaimed 
"Fuck you Mike! Just because you have a petty crush on my sister doesn't mean you can be a cunt to me" He rolled his eyes, mike storming away. Y/n walking ahead of will too. putting his hands in his pockets and looking to the floor 
"y/n-" Will started saying
"Watch it, zombie boy." A guy popped out to will, he gasped and jumped back.
"trick or treat, freak" Another said
"Boo" One yelled to will, he fell backwards onto the ground. Y/n noticed this and quickly turned back around
"Hey!" Y/n yelled to them, they all turned to face him
"What are you going to do about it? Gay boy" One said to him. 
"Leave him alone you failed human abortion of a person" Y/n got up in the guys face. He saw will acting weirdly
"Shut the fuck up you clearly were the failed one if you were adopted" He said to y/n
"Just fuck off" Y/n said, running towards where will had gone. Mike had seen him running and had started running too
"Will!" Y/n said, seeing him on the floor. He was breathing heavily. Y/n was now sat infront of Will "breathe with me Will, you're okay, it's fine" Will practically jumped into y/ns arms and y/n stroked his hair comfortly
"Is he okay?" Mike asked Y/n concerned for will
"Holy shit" Dustin said, him Lucas and Max coming down the stairs.
"is he okay?" Lucas asked. Y/ns grip tightening on will, Will head in the crook of his neck.
"I-I" Y/n started, shaken up and still annoyed
"We don't know" Mike answered for him. Y/n quickly got up. will, looking up at him
"y-y/n?" He asked, still breathing heavily. Y/n quickly ran up the stairs and left the scene. Knowing he could've prevented that whole thing from happening.

Y/n walked through the forest. Punching every tree he went past and crying. He made it to the front door and opened it with his powers. He made it straight to his room and collapsed on his bed sobbing. 

TW SELF HARM

He reaches out  for the blade in his draw and he slowly cut deep cuts into both his arms until there was no space left, even going over his old ones. After abit he started hearing loud knocking from hopper on the front door. He doesn't move at all. He's too exhausted and just doesn't physically feel like he can.

"Hey, kid. Open up, all right? Look, I know I'm late. I got candy here, all right? I got all the good stuff, Please, will you open the door? I'm gonna freeze to death out here." Hop kept banging on the door, Y/n now covering his ears, unlocking the door with his own powers as el obviously wouldn't. He quickly opened it and walked in, hearing the tv playing in els room and shuffling in y/ns.
"hey, kids. open up, would you?" Hop asked to els room "i got, uh... Stuck somewhere, and I lost track of time. And I'm sorry. El would you please open the door? y/n?" He sighed and turned around, walking over too and sitting down on the sofa. "all right, I'm just gonna be out here by myself, eating all this candy. I'm gonna get fat. It's very unhealthy to leave me out here. Could have a heart attack or something. But you know, you two... do what you want." Hop said, eating the sweets. Y/n sat in his room. Covering his arms with bandages, watching the blood get soaked up by them. He slowly fell asleep, wearing the hoodie given to him. From will.
