"Satoru, wait!", y/n was following me around the palace, while I was going to my room to take my stuff and leave, "don't be reckless!".

"Stay out of it, your highness", I warned her and I burst into my room, and started packing my stuff to leave.

"Listen to me! You'll make a big mistake, if you leave the palace! They'll catch you in no time, while here you have protection", y/n began explaining to me and she snatched away my clothes from my hands, "think about it first, then decide if you wanna leave or not!".

"There's nothing keeping me here anymore".

I put my stuff into my bag and y/n watched me with her hands pressed to her chest. She looked so sad, holding back tears even. Now she's concerned about me, I thought to myself, a little bit too late, if you ask me.

"What about Yuji and the kids?", she finally asked what I expected her to ask, "are you going to leave them here to die?".

"They are your responsibility. You should be the one, who has to take care of them", I spoke to her and my tone got even colder. I hated to admit it, but she hit the spot with this one.

"And what about me?", she began pleading to me, took my hands in hers and forced me to face her, "why are you leaving me?".

"Why are you acting so hurt? The traitor is leaving, you don't have to keep my secret from your precious, beloved father anymore", I snatch my hands away from her.

"So you really don't care about me, huh?".

"Never said such a thing!".

"You don't have to, I can feel it. Because, if you cared for me, for these kids, you would never leave us here!", she started yelling at me.

I didn't say anything to get. I took all my stuff and left the room. Y/n continued to run after me until we reached the gates. Suguru was waiting for me with a smile on his face. I put my hands into my pocket and nodded to him.

He immediately understood the signal and he got ready to leave. I made a step forward, but y/n gets in my way.

"Move out of my way", spoke to her calmly.

"I am not going anywhere! I won't let you go too", she pulled out a gun and pointed it at me, both me and Suguru raised our hands in the air as y/n placed her finger on the trigger, "I'm sorry, Satoru, but you gave me no choice".

"Don't be stupid, your highness", I continued to speak to her calmly and kept my hands in the air, "you'll get hurt".

"Is this chick crazy?", Suguru spoke to me.

"If you try to leave...I will shoot", y/n gave me a warning and points the gun at both me and Suguru.

Suguru stood still for awhile, but I saw the muscles on his arms getting tense. I knew if I don't take control over this situation, someone is getting hurt..and it won't be us.

"Y/n", my eyes lock with hers, she looked so hurt and so scared, "give me the gun and step aside. Don't get yourself in trouble".

"If you move..I'll shoot", she warned me one more time and I let out a sigh.

There was no good ending to this situation, so I did what she said and stood still. Y/n kept the gun pointed at us. Suguru lowered his hands and stood there with me. I already knew he had a crazy plan, so I better keep him in check.

Before I could say something to y/n and calm her down, Suguru made a step forward, took y/n by the hand and snatched the gun away from her. Y/n fell in the ground and Suguru pointed the gun at her. She looked at him, fear in her eyes, her whole body shaking.

"Suguru, stop!", I yelled at him, "throw the gun away! Immediately!".

"She threatened your life", he spoke to me and placed his finger on the trigger, "I'll keep her busy here, you go ahead".

"Let her go!", my anger was building even more inside of me. I was ready to kill him on the spot, if I had to.

"Are you crazy?", Suguru looked at me, "let's kill her and revenge our people. This will be a perfect message to Naoya Zenin", he smiled.

"Don't involve her in your plans! She's innocent and won't hurt anyone!".

"One enemy down is better than nothing".

Suguru turns his full attention to y/n, who was trembling and crying on the ground with a gun pointed at her head. I threw my bag on the ground and I fell down in front of her. She hides behind me and I look straight into my mate's eyes.

"Move out of my way, Satoru!", he warned me.

"If you want to hurt her, you have to hurt me first", I told him and I felt how y/n was holding onto my jacket and crying behind me.

"You got so soft. It scares me".

"Drop the gun and I'll go with you, but if you hurt her..you will become one of my enemies".

"What happened to sticking together? Are you going to give up on us...for a chick? For the enemy of all people?".

I refused to move. There's no way I'll let him hurt my y/n. If something happens to her, because of me I don't know what I'll do.

Suguru kept the gun pointed at us, but this time it was right in my head. I closed my eyes ready to meet my end, because I knew he was about to shoot. Y/n held me tight and hid her face in my back.

Suguru slowly pulled the trigger, but instead of my head, he shoot me in the shoulder. I let out a loud groan and the sound of the gun woke up the whole palace. Suguru took the gun with him and started running.

All the guards ran outside to see what was going on, while I was laying on the ground with my open wound. Y/n hovered over me, her tears falling on my face.

"Satoru, no..", she held my arm and tried to stop the bleeding, "hold on, don't close your eyes", she begged me.

I looked at her face. Her tears running down from her eyes to her chin, then straight on my face. Her hands were shaking, but she still tried to help me. I lifted my other arm and I placed on her cheek. Y/n's eyes lock with mine and we stare into each other. I gave her a smile.

"You look so pretty", I said to her.

"Don't try to give me compliments now", she began crying even more, "we have to save you".

"It's better this way. Let me die in your arms".

"Don't be ridiculous! I would never...".

My ears started buzzing. My vision was getting blurry. I lost too much blood. I felt how my skin was getting colder, y/n's touch was burning me like a wild fire. Before I knew it I lost consciousness...and I thought I died that day.
