The building is warmer than she expected, and Kukumi contemplates running to take off the nylons to be a bit cooler. You are supposed to be professional stop being a baby and deal with it. I hate wearing this many clothes!! She sucks in another deep breath before a woman with ash blonde hair, red eyes, and one hell of a yell interrupts the thoughts.
"Why didn't you tell me she was here?!" Yet, her voice has no real anger as she approaches Kukumi.
Kukumi smiles at her and chuckles lightly, "I haven't been here for very long. I am sure they went to get you right after I arrived." She winks at the receptionist, who smiles and nods.
Mitsuki shrugs and looks at Kukumi as she talks, "You have a better style than my last assistant; I hoped so after reading your resume. So, Kukumi, how long have you been interested in fashion?" She gestures for her to follow as she begins to walk.
Kukumi holds her smile as she follows behind her into the maze of hallways and people, "really all my life. Since I was a little girl I found myself mezmerized by the way people dressed, then when I could read I started drifting away from novels toward fashion magazines and trying to model myself after them as best I could with that my parents could afford."
Mitsuki shoots her a mischievous smirk over her shoulder, "and it took you this long to get into it? How unfortunate."
"The timing was never right with school and then having to move out and support myself. The industry is not that easy to get into when you are struggling. That is why this opportunity is a godsend."
"I'm sorry a girl with your ambition has had to struggle to join our world. But now it is time to get to work."
Kukumi has gotten better at lying since falling in with the League. The story tumbles from her lips as effortlessly as if it were truth, and all she can feel is pride rather than the guilt and shame the act used to harbor. After touring the building, Kukumi is shown her desk and given her first mountain of tasks to help with. A lot of running around after Mitsuki, taking notes, making calls, and surprisingly making an ungodly amount of tea.
After the first week, she already has her routine; wake up, shower, get dressed, walk to work, make sure Mitsuki has hot tea on her desk, talk to every department for updates, then meet Mitsuki at the door and give her every piece of information gained from the morning, finally while she drinks her tea and looks everything over it's an hour of desk work before following the woman around and assuring that everything said is remembered and everyone is contacted. Kukumi misses her vigilante work; even working with the League is less taxing than this is. By Monday of her second week, with no sign of Dynamight, it is time to do some digging.
Mitsuki finishes talking to the styling department and walks over with an outstretched hand for her tea, "nice and warm like I like it, thank you Kukumi."
Kukumi nods, "everything running efficiently as usual, ma'am. Hardly anything happens that you can't handle."
Mitsuki shrugs, "it comes with the territory of owning a compay for as long as I have."
"I still view it as rather impressive. What is next on our schedule for the day?"
"Always so eager. I love it." Her voice is loud and draws attention to them, "we need to speak with the social media and marketing managers and see why we are off track there, and then we have to run over to the other location-" Her phone rings, and she looks at it rather irritatedly before reading the name and handing Kukumi the empty mug of tea. "I had come to think you had forgotten about your mother!" She exclaims with a laugh.
Kukumi took a breath to hide her grin; about time, something was easy for her. She doesn't want to start gossiping around the office this early, but Izuku can call whenever and need some sort of progress. Especially if the hero gets in the way again.
