{Y/n POV}
{Earlier before Philip left}I overheard the conversation of Philip fighting in a duel.
"Absolutely not-" I started.
"What are you doing?" Angie asked.
"Nothing, never mind." I said, continuing to listen to Philip's conversation.
Philip grabs his satchel and puts something in it, He pulls me to my feet.
"Yes?" I giggled.
"Can I have a kiss?" He asked, bashfully.
"Of course." I kissed his cheek.
"You miiissedd..." He complained.
"What do you mean I missed?" I asked.
He pulled me into a deep passionate kiss, my hands fidgeting with the back of his coat and nape, his hands were right on my waist.
"Oh, that's what you meant." I giggled, bashfully.
"Uh-huh," He smiled.
I smiled back, he pulled me into a tight hug,
"I'll come back..." He whispered into my neck.
"What?" I asked.
"I got to go somewhere, I'll be back..." He rubs my back.
"O-oh okay, I'll be here," I said, that was a huge lie.
He pulls away and gives me one last kiss on the lips then he walks out the front door.
I have to stop this...
He died like this before- I have to save him.
All I have to do is follow him.
I snuck some of Philip's clothes to look like a guy, so no one suspects anything. I taped my chest very tightly and put metal plates under the clothing.
Last time Eacker aimed at his hip, so thankfully I found plates that curve up my torso perfectly.A carriage pulls up,
"Weehawken, please." I asked, stepping into the carriage.
"Yes, sir." The horseman nodded, starting the carriage.
The ride was silent, hopefully I don't make it too late.
Once I make it to where they were dueling I take one of Philip's extra pistols, I aim right at Eacker's back, I take a deep breath. This bullet should go right through his lung and heart, it should kill him. I can do this, I pull the trigger and shoot. Philip was still counting and Eacker fell straight to the ground. Philip and the doctor turned around in shock, I took off Philip's hat and let my hair fall down.
"Y/n? What-" He asked.
"I'll tell you later, we need to get out of here," I said, pulling his hand towards me.
"Alright then," Philip said, confused.
We call a carriage and get in, "Are you going to explain now?" Philip asked.
"Yes," I said, out of breath.
"Are those my clothes?" He asked.
"Yes, Who else would I steal?" I said, unbuttoning the top, "This is worse than a corset."
"How?" Philip asked.
"I taped my chest, that's how," I said.
"How did you..." Philip asked.
"What? Act like a boy, it's easy." I said, "You just make your voice lower than it normally is,"
"No, how did you know I was going to duel Eacker," He asked.
"You and your father don't talk very quietly," I said, putting my hair back up.
"Really?" He said, looking at me with shock.
"Yeah, You were talking all fast," I said, brushing his curly hair out of his eyes.
"Yeah, I was freaking out," He said, placing his back on the seat.
"I could tell," I said.
