Let's do this.

Unlike before, my expression was unwavering as the cameras flashed and clicked as I walked through the Senate halls, Lisa was with me and Connor and James were back at the hotel. Alina would have had us again but she had to go to Canada to visit family. We were staying at the Watergate Hotel, yes, that same hotel that led to the downfall of a Republican president, the irony wasn't lost upon me. I smiled at the committee members as I sat down, the flashes stopped but the clicks could still be heard. Another one for the history books.

"This hearing is now called to order." I saw the chairwoman bang the gavel and gaze at me.

"Madam Ambassador, although you were only here just weeks ago, we welcome you to the Senate. I am sorry that these circumstances have brought you back here as many others here feel the same. Before we begin your testimony, is there anything that you would like to let us know?"

I nodded and gave her a small smile.

"Thank you Madam Chairwoman, I do share the same sentiment as you and had hoped that if I were to return to DC, it would not be under circumstances like this. When Deviant Nation was founded, those close to me knew that there would be people that would not hide their blatant contempt and hate for those that believed that androids deserve freedom and the same rights you and I are guaranteed. I am here to willingly testify for the events that occurred on November 15th, and answer all questions that are relevent to this incident."

"The gentleman from Michigan is recognized."

"Madam Ambassador, could you please tell us in detail what occurred on November 15th?" An older man spoke, I couldn't see his brass tag from the height of where he sat.

"Prior to the alleged attack, President Warren had invited me and those who were with me to the White House for an informal dinner, after finishing the meal I excused myself to the washroom upstairs before we left. As I came out Senator Wilson had appeared out of a room that was one door down from where I was. He attempted to accouste me into one of the rooms and when I refused, he grabbed me and threw me into one. He pinned me against the door and said quote, 'you ruined everything you android fucking bitch.' I could hear gasps from the members and some reporters as the cameras clicked again.

"Thank you, I yield back."

"The gentlelady from California is recognized."

I turned and saw her name tag. Cassandra Walton. An anti-deviant diehard. I took a deep breath as she scoweled at me.

"Madam Ambassador, is it true you are dating an android?"

I blink but maintain a somber expression.

"Yes it is."

"And is it true that you spent a great deal learning about androids in the early '20s when Cyberlife was founded."

"Yes."

"So is it fair to say you prefer the prescence of androids over humans? And that this allegation is only being made to further drive support toward your country?"

"No that is not a fair statement." I give her a subtle glare.

"Then please explain what would be."

I sit up and hold her gaze.

"Deviant Nation was founded on the principle that androids are alive, and deserve the same freedoms you and I are guaranteed. But it is not an android only country. As I speak now, thousands of androids and humans are gaining entry into the country to pursue a better life, and I as a diplomat for this nation will welcome anyone who simply wishes a better life for themselves and their loved ones, regardless of who they are."

Her expression didn't wavier but she backed down.

"I yield back."

"You were amazing my love, you ran that room like you owned it." Connor sat down on the bed as I changed into more comfy clothes.

"I'm just glad it's over now, all that remains if for them to offically vote on his expulsion."

"Was he there?"

"No, I guess he just couldn't stomach being in the same room with a woman who knows how to fight back both with her fists and her words." I smirked as I eyed him through the mirror.

Then there was a knock.

"Madam Ambassador, Connor. We need you to come with us." Lisa spoke urgently when I opened the door. James was speaking quietly into his earpiece, his gun pointed to the left without the safety.

"What's wrong Lisa?"

"There's an uprising occurring outside the hotel, armed protesters are trying to gain entry. We need to get you to safety."

We nod and make our way down the hall, their guns drawn. Lisa was behind me and James in front of Connor, who also had a gun drawn. When did he bring that?

Lisa held a finger over earpiece and started moving faster.

"They've broken down the doors. We need to take the stairs."

"Where's the rest of the team?"

"They're trying to contain, buy time until the National Guard arrives." James spoke up.

"Fuck this is insane." I shook my head as we moved to the exit to the stairway, I guess it's somewhat of a good thing we decided to stay on the fourth floor.

We stopped when we reached the second floor staircase, a door slammed open and heavy footsteps followed.

"We need to find that bitch before the guard arrives."

"What exactly are the rules of engagement?"

"Kidnapping, Wilson wants her alive."

Lisa and James turn to me, holding a finger to their lips. I shake my head and move a step down, looks like I'm about to see how much I can lift.

Holding my hands out I focus on their energy, I felt a heavy feeling in my stomach grow as I lifted them up. They were twisting in the air as I laid eyes on them. They were younger looking men, early twenties with shaved heads and tactical gear with anti-deviant patches sewed in.

"Wilson sent you? Well send him my regards when you wake up." I smiled and shift them so their heads hit the concrete wall, knocking them out.

"What the hell... Never mind let's go." Lisa spoke with disbelief and we made our way down.

When we got out the motorcade was already waiting, but some of them were were pulling at the makeshift fence.

"Come here bitch! I'll show you I'm better than your plastic toy!" One shouted.

"Traitor!"

"You're a disgrace!"

I motioned foward with my hands and heard the scrapping of their boots as they were forced back. When I turned away I heard a shot. Lisa cried out and knelt to the ground, James quickly fired a warning shot to get them back and pulled her into the car.

"Where did you get hit?"

"It hit my vest, but it hurt." She removed her jacket and shirt, turning I spotted the ruined octegon shape that took the impact. It had a deep dent but wasn't shredded.

"From the impact it looks like it was either a shotgun or a pistol." Connor spoke.

"Let's get out of here, we'll let the National Guard take care of them."

I leaned back and Connor wrapped his arms around my stomach.

Sadly, this is only the beginning.
