Lovin' You Is Easy (A Sophitz Story)

Part 9

Sophie POV

Sophie hung her head, trudging upstairs to her room. She started thinking. Fitz deserves someone better than me. He is a Vacker. And I'm  just the freaky horse-eyed girl, who won't ever amount to anything, to anyone. I don't deserve anything, I'm an awful person, no wonder Fitz likes that other girl more-

 She was interrupted from her thoughts by a familiar transmission.

Sophie. I don't like any other girls. I don't love any other girls. I've been meaning to tell you this for years but... I l-love...you. And don't talk about yourself like that. You're the only one I trust, and you make up a part of me.

Fitz... I just feel bad. Ever since I came, I've ruined everything. Now you have injuries and you have to worry about the Neverseen all the time, even though we killed them. I'm just dragging everyone to their doom. You have a life other than me, Fitz.

I do? Fitz asked playfully. And no, you're not 'dragging us into trouble', you're saving everyone from a worse fate. This would have happened anyway, regardless if you came. And i'm so glad you did come. Because I wouldn't have met my....my true love.

......I think you're my.. my t-true l-love too, Fitz. I .....love you. Thank you for always being there for me.

Hey, it's what's having a boyfriend's for. We take care of you guys. And that's my favourite thing to do. Spend time with you. Because you're my favourite person.

A figure opened the door cautiously, and Sophie fell into her love's strong arms. Sophie felt the soft hands of Fitz stroke her cheek and kiss her softly. The kiss was slow and gentle, like Sophie was broken and Fitz was trying to fix her. They broke apart, and Fitz's arms wrapped around Sophie's waist, twirling her around. Sophie's arms moved around Fitz's neck. Fitz scooped Sophie up, cradling her in his arms as he sat on her bed. He sat there for what felt like ages and whispered sweet nothings into Sophie's ear, making her blush.

Finally it was time for bed. Fitz laid her on the bed and wrapped the blankets around her. 

"Remember, I love you, and no one else. My heart is utterly yours." FItz whispered in her ear, smiling, and he received a smile back from Sophie, who pecked him on the lips sweetly. 

Fitz left the room, going back to Everglen.

That boy's love was the literal reason she was able to sleep at night.
