Niall’s POV

I got a text from Liam saying that we need to meet in the court yard after school, without Rylie. I wonder why she can’t be there. Is Liam going to confess his undying love for her to us and then expect that we keep it a secret? Whatever the reason, I am stopping to get something to eat first. I walked into the school store to see what they had for some eats: popcorn, salt and vinegar chips and, oh my god. I ran over to the corner, pizza flavored pringles, I have to have these. I brought the chips over to the cashier and she rung up my chips.

“Thanks.” I said and she almost fainted because of my accent. What is up with girls and accents? Anyway, I made my way over to the courtyard and took a seat on the bench next to Abby.

“Chip?” I asked and she took one.

“Thank you.” She said as she shoved a hand full in her mouth.

“Damn, you can eat.” I said and she smiled.

“So,” Abby started, “why do you have that brace on your hand?”

“Well,” I said grabbing my injured hand—

“Hey guys,” Louis said walking over to where Abby and I were sitting, “what cha’ talking about?”

“Nothing much, Abby just asked me about my hand--”

“Yeah, what happened?” Louis interrupted me.

“I’ll explain later when the rest of the group is here.” I said. And just my luck, after I say that, the rest of the group shows up to the courtyard and sits down at the picnic table.

“Okay, the rest of them are here, now spill!” Louis told me.

“Before Niall talks to us about his hand,” Liam started, “we need to figure out what we are going to do for Rylie’s birthday.”

“But she said that she didn’t want us to do anything.” Zayn stated, holding Shania’s hand.

“That’s exactly what she wants us to think. If I know anything about Rylie, it’s that when she says she doesn’t want something, she really does.” Anna said with a stern but mellow face.

“I know. One time she said that she didn’t want these pink cheetah Van sneakers so I ended up not getting them for her. Well when I went to her party, looked kind of sad that I didn’t get them for her.” Ally said.

“So Anna,” Liam started, “what did she say she didn’t want to do for her birthday?”

“She said she didn’t want o really go anywhere.” Anna said to Liam.

Why does Liam care so much about Rylie’s birthday? I mean, yeah I care about her and want her to have a special day but he is like obsessing over it, well it seems that way.

“How about we go lazar tagging?” I chimed in.

“Yeah! She loves that, I can never beat her at it.” Anna said.

“Okay, lazar tagging it is. I’ll call and make some reservations for a party later today. But nobody can tell Rylie. It’s going to be a surprise, make it look like we took her word and didn’t throw her a huge party.” Liam said.

Personally, I think her has a crush on her. And I mean, I won the bet that Harry would go out with Anna so I think my intuition is correct. All this thinking is making me hungry—

“Niall!” Louis shouted, kicking me back into reality. “Tell us what happened to your hand.”

“Well, um, I, let’s wait until Wednesday, at Rylie’s party, so that way we all hear about it.” I said getting up and leaving the scene. I could hear Zayn asking what my problem was but I didn’t want to go back and explain. I just wanted to go home. If I told the boys, I knew they would be disappointed about the news because then I would have let them down. They wouldn’t be able to perform in the talent show all because of me.

I got onto the late bus because unfortunately, I don’t have my license because I failed my driver’s test. I was so nervous I forgot to turn on my blinkers and passed some stop signs. I mean, my instructor was a dickhead. He was like staring at me all the time and checking my speed, then always critiquing me. Like damn, I know I am going to fast, but that is because you are making me nervous because your fucking staring at me making my nerves get tense. Sorry for that rant but it just pisses me off sometimes. All of my friends can drive and I am the only one who doesn’t have their license.

I took an empty seat and dropped my back pack on the floor, taking out another bag of chips that I bought. It was another one of those pizza chips, those thing were damn good. I plopped one into my mouth and I looked over the seat to find, oh god, Marcy Wolf. Sure, she’s pretty but she is like a fucking stalker when she likes a guy. She’s medium height and has blonde hair and blue eyes like me, what a ‘coincidence’. Just before I ducked down in my seat I saw Abby get on the bus.

They were both walking toward me; apparently Abby didn’t have her car today and she was looking at me, and I looked at her like ‘save me from Marcy.’ She smiled and walked towards me.

“Hey Niall!” Marcy said squishing me into the window. She ran to the seat when she saw that it was me sitting there.

“Hey Marcy.” I could barely get out with all the pressure pushing me up towards the window.

I looked at Abby and she looked sad then took the seat behind me. Damnit Marcy, she has to ruin everything.

“How’s my little Irish boyfriend today?” She asked batting her eyes and rubbing my cheek with her index finger.

“How many times do I have to tell you, I am not your boyfriend!” I said pushing my face away from the window.

“Oh come on Niall, don’t be like that. I know you have always liked me since the day you laid eyes on me.” She said turning her body. She was slowing inching closer and placing her hands on my thighs. I started to get up in the seat as she moved her hands up to my shoulders.

“Marcy, I have never liked you, and I never will.” I mumbled towards the end of my sentence.

Marcy started to get up with me. I placed both of my feet on the seat inching myself up so my lower back was touching the back of the top of the seat. Marcy was now standing and her hands were on my cheeks. Just as she was about to kiss me I felt myself falling backwards and I ended up in Abby’s lap. Marcy had her eyes closed so she didn’t see that I had fallen backwards and ended up kissing my green sneakers. I laughed and looked up at Abby she was smiling and helped me up.

Abby whispered to me, “Why don’t you sit with me.”

“Good idea.” I said back, “But what about my back pack?” I asked. Apparently Marcy over heard me.

“Here’s your fucking back pack you bastard!” Marcy threw my backpack at me and started walking off the bus, “Oh and by the way, were over!” She yelled as she walked off of the bus. I turned to see everyone looking at me with awkward stares.

“Don’t worry, she’s was never my girlfriend, ever, in a million years!” I said to the bus holding my hands up, then they proceeded with their original conversations.

“Well at least she won’t be following you around anymore.” Abby said with a smile.

“Yeah, I am so happy. You are damn lucky you’re not a boy. You don’t have to put up with crazy stalker girls.” I said to her shaking my head.

“Yeah, well at least you don’t have to deal with a period. I mean that is the most annoying--”

“Stop right there sister.” I said snapping my fingers in front of my face, “I don’t even wanna hear about your ‘monthly gift’ thingy or whatever you girls call it. I don’t even want to argue. I guess that being a guy is easier than being a girl.”

“Damn Niall, you give shorter and shorter every day.”

“What can I say, I’m Irish.” I said, sticking up my thumb and swinging my arm.

“Bye Niall, see you tomorrow.” Abby said to me. I looked at her confused and then realized I was at my stop.

“Oh, bye Mads, see yeah.” I said getting my backpack.

“Hey Niall before you go, what happened to your hand?” Abby asked me.

“Well, um, hey I got to go, I’ll tell you soon.” I said stepping off of the bus. I can’t keep putting this off; I have to tell the guys soon so they can find a replacement quick. I just don’t really know when and how to tell everyone.
