Anna's P.O.V.

Oh my god, did he really just ask me out? No one has ever asked me out before. I have always been the girl who plays a hardcore sport and not a lot of guys find those types of girls attractive because they are stronger than them. I love being stronger than guys, but it is not fun when you can’t get a boyfriend. Most of the guys like cheerleaders who will wear short skirts and wear low cut shirt’s that show off their cleavage. I still can’t wrap Harry asking me out around my head. It was so sudden and I don’t think that I will have any time for him because of my busy schedule. I have lacrosse practice every night and then I have games on Saturday’s and Sunday’s now add homework and school projects on top of that. I don’t know what to do. I haven’t even gotten a chance to know him yet, and maybe when I do, I will develop stronger feelings for him. I’ll just talk to Harry tomorrow and tell him that I can’t right now.

I walked back to the gym to grab my clothes and change. I had forgotten about the conversation with Harry for now because I need to concentrate on school right now. When I walked through the doors I saw that Abby and Rylie were still there waiting for me.

“Hey guys, you didn’t have to wait for me.” I said with a smile.

“We just wanted to make sure you got to the nurse okay, and that Harry didn’t hurt you anymore than he already did.” Rylie said to me with disgust.

“Yeah,” I said and looked down at the floor, “I’m fine.”

Abby noticed blankness in my eyes and asked, “Anna, are you feeling okay? Is something bothering you?”

“No, no, I’m fine; my head just hurts from Harry hitting me in the head.”

“Okay, if you ever need to talk, you know that we are here for you.” Rylie told me. I went into the locker room and changed out of my gym clothes and walked to my locker to grab my stuff for B block.

I checked my schedule to see what class I had and it was Honors Algebra II. Rylie and Abby were with me and I asked them what class they had next and they both said Honors Algebra II.

“Good, I don’t like walking into classes alone when I am late because then everyone stares at me.” I said with relief. We all walked to the class and knocked on the door. It was a bit before someone finally came to the door. We could hear people talking and it was about fifteen minutes into class so we were wondering why people were talking. Finally someone opened the door but it wasn’t the teacher, it was one of the students and when I looked in the room, there was no teacher there.

“Where’s the teacher?” I questioned. Someone yelled from across the room, “She’s in a meeting and our substitute ain’t here!”

“Oh, okay.” Abby said and took her seat in the back of the room near, wait, oh no, the five new kids, just my fucking luck. I try not to draw any attention to myself because I just had that conversation with Harry and I take my seat in the back the farthest away from the boys but close to Abby and Rylie.

The boy with the longer brown hair who was wearing a striped shirt loudly whispered, “Hey, Harry, is that the girl you were talking about?”

“Louis, shut up!” Harry yelled.

My face started to blush and it was very noticeable. I had to tell Harry that I didn’t have time for a boyfriend right now, but I don’t know how to let him down lightly. I guess I’ll have to just pass him a note or something.

“So,” Abby started, “I’m thinkin’ Harry like you Anna.”

“Tell me about it.” I rolled my eyes and smiled a little and Rylie gazed my way and nudged my shoulder.

“Come on Anna, go ask him out. It is obvious that he likes you, I mean he offered to walk you to the nurse.” Rylie said.

“Walking me to the nurse was not the only thing he did.” Anna said and rolled her eyes.

“Wait, what’s going on? I’m so lost over here!” Abby exclaimed.

“Not now, I’ll tell you guys later.” I said in a whisper just to make sure Harry didn’t hear me.

“Come on Anna, tell us!” Rylie said

“Not now!” I yelled. The class became silent with all eyes on me. Rylie and Abby looked away and I sunk down in my chair. After everyone had their moment of aw, they started talking again.

So my first day of Honors Algebra II was just a social hour more than a class, but who’s complaining, surely not me. I went through the rest of my classes and lunch then at the end of the day, Rylie and Abby were waiting outside for the busses and I walked over to them.

“Hey.” I said to them.

“So, you said you would tell us later, and, well, it’s later so spill.” Abby said impatiently.

“Okay, here it is. When I was walking down to the nurse’s office, Harry was trying to joke about my hair and stuff. We walked in and the nurse took me into one of the areas where you lay down but I was sitting up and then Harry started talking to me and complimenting me then said that he likes me and how I am not like other girls and then he asked, well tried to ask me out and then the nurse said that we had to go because classes were switching and I told him that I would see him later and I decided that I didn’t have time for a boyfriend because I am too busy but I never got the chance to tell him and yeah.” I said in one big breath.
