Footsteps echoed off the cobblestone through dimly lit alleys. Figures snuck under windows, avoiding the gaze of prying eyes. They seemed to glide through the backstreets of their town, following a path they knew all too well.
Past the point of no return,
No backward glances.
The games we played till now are at an end
When the two arrived at the door, the taller of the two unlocked the door with no more than a squeak of the door. The shadows disappeared within the secrecy of the house. No lights lit, no curtains open, no whispers to hear.
Past all thought of "if" or "when".
No use resisting,
Abandon thought and let the dream descend.
Marching to their quivering heartbeats, they ascended the stairs. One grabbed the banister to stop his shaking hands.
What raging fire shall flood the soul?
What rich desire unlocks its door?
What sweet seduction lies before us?
The old floor squeaked as they sped through the hall, lust propelling them.
Past the point of no return.
The final threshold,
What warm unspoken secrets will we learn?
Beyond the point of no return.
One figure stopped, pausing his racing mind and heart. His breaths were heavy and his stomach tight in a knot. He pulled the other back by his sleeve.
"You have brought me
To that moment when words run dry.
To that moment when speech disappears
Into silence,"
He whispered as the taller of the two turned to look at him.
"Silence,"
The other responded in mere agreeance, glancing down a the others lips. With a sharp inhale, their lips touch, the brunets back hitting the wall as the blond's hands trace his silhouette.
"I have come here,
Hardly knowing the reason why,"
Grantaire breathed, his thoughts being guided by the sheer lust coursing through his body. Enjolras simply tucked a piece of stray hair behind his ear, letting his hand roam through the forest that was Grantaire's hair. He let out a small moan, bearly audible in the stillness of the house. A smirk danced on Enjolras' lips.
"In my mind, I've already imagined
Our bodies entwining.
Defenseless and silent."
The leader whispered into his ear, sending chills down his spine.
"Now I am here with you.
No second thoughts,
I've decided"
Grantaire responded, his heart pounding in his chest. He pushed himself off the wall, guiding Enjolras backwards into his bedroom.
"Decided?"
The smirking man asked, painfully aware of the other mans hands on his body. One planted on his chest, pushing him, the other teasingly high on his leg.
Past the point of no return.
No going back now.
Our passion-play has now, at last, begun.
Once through the dark doorway, Enjolras griped Grantaire's wrists, ripping them off him. He instead pushed him onto the messy bed, following suit on top of him.
Past all thought of right or wrong
One final question
Grantaire started to see a side of Enjolras he had never seen before. A rough side, a passionate side, though gentle and kind at the same time. Enjolras threaded his hands through Grantaire's dark hair once more as he made his mark on his neck.
How long should we two wait, before we're one?
Ties were discarded and shirts were loosened by shaking fingers. Those same fingers traced features the two had only fantasized of worshiping upclose.
When will the blood begin to race?
Their emotions were trapped in the darkness of the room, the only sounds they let escape being pants between kisses.
The sleeping bud burst into bloom?
The cool air hit their skin, though both too busy to even notice, let alone care.
When will the flames, at last, consume us?
A single glance between the two answered the silent question they posed to the other. A small nod of understanding from Grantaire to Enjolras unlocked the world to both men in the darkness of that room.
Past the point of no return
The final threshold
The bridge is crossed
So stand and watch it burn
We've passed the point of no return
Grantaire, more vunreblue as he had ever been around another person, glanced up at his partner, his Apollo
"Say you'll share with me,
One love, one lifetime.
Lead me- Save me from my solitude.
Say you want me with you here beside you.
Anywhere you go, let me go too-"
Grantaire quietly begged, not wanting his fears to become reality in a life of lonely darkness.
"That's all I ask of..."
Enjolras pressed his lips to Grantaire's once more, lighter, sweeter than those just past. He smiled as he pulled away, admiring Grantaire's piercing green eyes. They shared a knowing look, before holding onto each other for dear life, both knowing it was the Point of No Return.
