They stared into each other's eyes for a few seconds. Mike's gaze dropped to Will's lips for the briefest moment before returning to the hazel-green irises. If he didn't know any better, he'd say Will's face turned a shade pinker.
"Okay, so, do you wanna give it a shot first or- do you want me to show you what I know?" Mike could feel his own cheeks growing hot.
Will tensed his legs in their crossed position. He was wearing a pair of jeans, but Mike could still see the way his limbs froze. "I'll- uh, I'll give it a shot I guess," Will said hesitantly. Mike nodded.
Will shifted forward slightly and Mike unconsciously did the same so that both boys were leaning across their crossed legs. Will had his hands planted on his knees while Mike grasped his together tightly in his lap to keep himself from doing something telling.
Their faces were barely an inch away now, and Mike could feel Will's warm breath on his lips. Mike tried to remember how to breathe.
His eyes stayed open as Will's slid shut, feeling a different kind of feeling from the fear that snaked around his heart when El kissed him that one day, years ago now. This feeling made his heart race and his breath catch. It made his stomach twist in the best way. He wishes that twisting feeling would last longer, instead of disappearing as quickly as it appeared.
Will had paused with barely a few millimeters left between his lips and Mike's, seeming to gather up one last ounce of courage before pushing them together.
It was over before Mike could really process it. A full but chaste kiss, not more than two seconds in duration. When Will pulled back slightly, Mike felt his eyelashes brush against his own. He opened his eyes.
Will looked a little like he had just run a marathon, which was funny because they hadn't moved from Mike's bed in several hours. He exhaled deeply and the air washed over Mike's cheeks.
Mike felt he would combust if he didn't lean back in.
