Luffy and Carrot are close friends who met each other on Zou following Luffy's victory over Donquixote Doflamingo. The two have become quite fond of each other, with Carrot taking a particular liking to Luffy because of his fun personality, whilst Luffy has come to like Carrot's kind and sincere traits. Despite how long Carrot has sailed with Luffy and his crew, she has yet to become an official member.On Zou, the two first met when Carrot came to escort Luffy to his friends, who had separated from him on Dressrosa. Carrot quickly took a liking to Luffy, helping him deal with Roddy. Her interest in Luffy first piqued when he announced his intention to invade Big Mom's territory in order to save a captured Sanji, the thought of which excited her. Such was this excitement, she snuck aboard the Thousand Sunny in order to take part in this trip. Luffy was shocked, but ultimately was more than happy to accommodate her, which thus began their adventures together.Their relationship is not displayed frequently, but it is heavily shown that Carrot has become highly fond of Luffy. Whilst her tribe's way of greeting others is by nuzzling their cheek to another person, Carrot has a unique habit of nippling onto Luffy's ear whilst wrapping her arms around him. Whilst Luffy was initially startled by this, he has come to tolerate it and often times barely acknowledges that she is doing it. Although the two got off on a good foot, Carrot still displayed her highly-aggressive side towards Luffy when he ate her carrot, which led to her gnawing viciously into his neck. He was able to calm her, after Nami told him to pet her, and she reverted back to her sweet nature, happily saying Luffy could have her carrot now.
