Explosion Berries part 1

Kipo made funny faces and sounds at the mutated baby, trying to get it to stop crying.

It was kind of working.

Mandu ran up to the door and squealed.

Still, the noise wasn't bothering your ears.

Huh, maybe it was plot convie-nope, what even was the end of that thought?

"Guys, the lock!" Kipo whisper yelled. "Lock the door!"

"Yeah, yeah, getting it."

You made your way over to the door and placed a hand on the doorknob, and used two of your fingers to pry onto the small piece of twisting metal in the middle and locked it.

After that, you quickly pulled your hand away and leant on the door, almost like a living barricade.

Suddenly, a pink tongue came out from under the door and slithered its way up the wood.

You grimaced as it reached the handle. But before it could be opened...

"Dave! I'm home!"

A male voice called out from what was presumably downstairs.

That was honestly a bit disappointing for you. You wanted to punch someone.

You heard some inaudible things before the tongue came out from under the door.

You let out a sigh of relief. "Thank fucking god," You muttered softly.

"A human?" You heard the mod frog say, although it was more of a question.

"Uh..." He began unsurely, before he gasped. "I am SO glad you frogs are here! You've gotta help me! I fell into this whole bush of..." He paused for a brief moment, probably searching for a convincing lie. "Explosion berries!"

Okay, that was it.

You opened the door a bit and gestured for them to come and listen.

As Kipo leant on the doorframe, your hands brushed together.

You could feel heat rising to your cheeks. That's weird. It's probably nothing. Just...hot in here is all. Yeah.

"Hm..." The mod frog thought about it. "Explosion berries? I guess that could be a thing I can't remember..."

"Good one Wolf," You whispered.

"Oh, it is definitely a real thing, and contagious!" The boy assured, reaching his hand behind his back. "If just one drop gets on your skin, boom!"
Oooh is he gonna explode something? Please explode something!

"Okay, have you guys heard of this?" The main mod frog looked to the others behind him.

"Oh, I feel a warmth!" He clutched his chest and collapsed to his knees. Luckily, you could see through his acting easily. You were pretty dramatic yourself. "I don't have much time..."

A purple liquid 'shot out of his chest' and he collapsed to the floor. Very, very dramatically.

The mod frogs ran out as he did.

I like this dude already.

Suddenly Kipo ran out of the room, still holding the child in her arms.

She stopped at the boy's side.

"Oh no, are you okay?"

A prick of jealousy suddenly sprung up from your emotions at how nice she was acting towards him.

Wait, why am I jealous?

You shook it off.

The boy got up from his stomach and gave a hearty chuckle. "Yeah, I'm fine." He took a sip of his soda, before offering it to Kipo. "Explosion berry?"
