Draco.
How do people do this? How do people live when their loved one has left? No contact in weeks, only a promise that she will come back to me, giving me her prized possession. I can't help but feel frightened and scared that something has happened to her. She was so vague about her departure, not going into any details at all, to protect me, but it's my job to do the protecting. If only she would let me.
I go around doing my duties alone, sit alone, do everything by myself, I am lousy company. All I want is to hear or see Hermione again, I love her for all her faults, for all her perfections, for her being her. The only person I have ever met that lives life whole heartedly and full of spirit. Life without her is so unbearable.
"Hey Draco, how's it going?" Harry asks me, he does this each day, checking up on me, it's nice, but not wanted.
"Hi, I am fine. Thanks for noticing, have a good one." I say as usual, dismissing him. Usually he gets the hint and leaves me to it. But today he actually sits down next to me.
"Chin up Draco, it's going to be ok. Once Hermione sorts out these issues, she can come back, with peace of mind. If she had stayed, it would have caused her great stress." Harry says seriously to me, I lift my head up from my arms, which were on the table.
"You know I could have helped her." I say instantly.
"I know, but she wants to, needs to do it alone. Free from worry, if you or I had gone, all that would have caused was stress and she wouldn't be able to concentrate on what she needs to do." Harry says simply.
"That is easy for you to say. I haven't heard from her since she has left!" I yell, I can not help it, I am so stressed with worry that she is lying dead in a ditch somewhere hoping that someone would come and rescue her.
"It's for your safety she doesn't contact you." Harry says immediately, no worry in his tone at all, meaning that she had contacted him.
"How can you be so sure she is fine?" I question him.
"Hermione is the type of person who would tell me if something went wrong." Harry said. This makes me so mad, he didn't even get told about Ron nearly killing her, so she doesn't tell him everything.
"Don't be so sure about that. Did she tell you why she left Ron's house early?" I ask, his eye brows go up in shock that I know this.
"No, I haven't the slightest idea why she left early." Harry replies confused, but eager to know.
"Ron beat her up to the point that she nearly died, I saved her of course. She stayed at mine until we came here." I tell him, he looks shocked and angry all at once.
"That idiot! He should never have touched Hermione in that way!" Harry says, I watch as he get's up from his chair and marches over to the table Ron is sitting at.
"Oh hi Harry." Ron says smiling up at Harry, instantly his smile is connected with his fist, and he keeps on going, people had to pull him away from Ron.
