There was silence. Kaonashi- or Min- had just finished telling her story, and I was shocked.
"Why did you stay?" I asked eventually.
"To see him. If I couldn't see him I would be in so much pain, even if he was right to hate me. So I go to the bar every once in a while to look at him."
"Are you just going to keep it this way? Not try to talk to him at all?" I questioned. She sighed.
"I've thought about it for years, you know, trying to apologize. But I know Changbin. It's not worth it. And as I said, he's not wrong to hate me. I'll survive."
Another half hour then passed in which I told her why I was where I was. Just as I finished speaking the door opened from above us and Chan came down the stairs. We stood up from behind the counter.
"I told Jisung the problem, and he scanned the area. They've gone back so you're safe for now. I would recommend moving, however, and staying indoors for a few weeks."
"Thank you." She bowed. "I'll go now." She turned to leave.
"I hope things change one day," I suddenly called. She nodded and left the store. Once she was out of sight Chan spoke.
"Did she tell you?"
"Mmm. Does Changbin ever talk about her?"
"Not really. The last time I asked about the whole thing I could tell he had some regret, but it didn't seem like he was going to do anything. Just don't act differently around him."
"I won't," I quickly shook my head. Suddenly the door opened again and I heard Minho's voice.
"Felix and Hyunjin made dinner!" He called down. Chan started heading up and I soon followed at his heels. Minho just stood there holding the door open, however when Chan passed he suddenly shut it and stood directly in front of me, our faces less than a foot away. Caught in shock, I stumbled back down a few steps until I could grab the railing and steady myself. Minho had an evil smirk on his face.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" I half shouted.
"No reason," he smirked. He reached out and put the back of his hand on my forehead. "Gotta fever?"
I quickly drew away, realizing I was blushing. I couldn't even recover from the shock of Min when Minho came and messed with me again. And why the heck was I blushing!?
"I don't have a fever. Are you going to let me have dinner?"
He opened the door again. "Sure."
I gave him a weird look as I passed him and upstairs to the kitchen. What the heck was his problem?
The days got warmer, and my bank account got higher. Technically, I could buy a small apartment, but one, I didn't want more bad quality, and second, I didn't want to leave. Leave the eight annoying men I somehow created a bond with? Couldn't think of it.
But then, out of nowhere, my thoughts were turned to Minho. Minho out of all people. As the days passed, he got more and more teasing to me, and would constantly mess around. But why in the world would I be trying to suppress a smile? Huh? He was freaking annoying. My life would be better without him.
Then one day he entered my room and asked the dreaded question while leaning on the doorway.
"Do you have enough money yet?"
"F-for what?" I pretended to not know. He didn't answer but stood there staring at me. There was an awkward silence.
"I- I guess? I could buy something small but would prefer to get a nicer place..." I slowly answered. He stood straight and sighed.
"Then I have to hurry."
"Huh?" Suddenly I heard amused snickering. Minho turned and glared out the door.
"Sorry!" Jisung ran past the doorway and soon I heard footsteps running down the stairs. He should be scared. Minho was the devil's competition.
"Why did I tell him..." he muttered.
"Huh? I'm so confused."
"Nothing," he smiled, turned, and left.
"MINHO YOU'RE SO CONFUSING!" I shouted after him.
"Sure!" He shouted back. I found myself smiling. I wished I could know him better. Why did he have to be so secretive?
"Wait, why am I thinking about him?" I muttered aloud. Having nothing else to do, I got up and left my room to wash up before my shift. My mind started to wander. Hopefully I had no trouble at the bar today... I put my hand on the bathroom door when suddenly it opened. Chan, covered in a bathrobe, walked out. His hair was freshly dried and curly, but what I noticed was what was in my face. His revealed chest. Right in front of my nose. His...
"Chan what the heck." A hand grabbed my arm and pulled me aside. "She's a minor." I turned around to find Minho behind me.
"Sorry then," Chan apologized and walked to his room. Minho was still standing in front of me.
"Why are you still near my room?" I glared. "Stalker."
"So I could rescue you from Chan's ugly chest."
"SHUT UP!" I heard him shout from his room. Hyunjin, who apparently overheard us, was laughing in the background.
"You're welcome." He patted my head and walked down the hallway. My gaze followed him until he disappeared, and then I just stood there. Hold up... CHEEKS WHY ARE YOU BLUSHING?!????!? I smacked my face and walked into the bathroom then locked the door behind me. That darn player...
Jisung, Felix, and Minho: I counted in the dim lighting of the bar. Min was seated in front of me, and I was currently having a staring contest with Minho at the table behind her. After almost a minute of silence, I finally blinked and sighed, then got back to washing cups.
"Which one?" She asked.
"Huh?"
"Which member is concerning you?"
I sighed. "It's Minho. I honestly don't know what his problem is." I ranted. "He keeps messing with me... maybe he hates me. Wait, I've got it! He wants me to leave!" Min looked at me confused. "Earlier today he asked when I'd have enough money to leave, and that combined with the way he's teasing me must mean he hates me and wants me to leave! I knew something was-"
"Or he likes you." Min calmly commented. My eyes widened, and I had to suppress a scream. I cleared my throat, put the glass down, and grabbed her shoulder.
"Min, I don't think you understand. He definitely doesn't like me. Who would like me anyway?"
"The guys who tried to kidnap you a while ago," she smirked.
"You knew about that? Actually never mind." I picked back up the glass and continued cleaning.
"You know sometimes when guys like girls, they mess with them. It's an unspoken practice."
I glanced behind her at Minho who was out of earshot, glaring at me. I sighed. "I don't think that's it. But how do I find out?" There was silence as we both thought. Felix came up and ordered three more shots, and I handed them over in silence. It's not like I could directly ask him...
"His phone." Min suddenly said.
"What do you mean? He rarely uses it."
"Even better to steal," she smirked. "Get his phone and search it. I'm sure he's said something about you in his texts to the members. Even if he hasn't, it wouldn't hurt to try."
"Ok, ok," I pondered. "But how do I get in?"
"Use a picture of him I guess. It could work."
I looked back at Minho who was now staring at Jisung and smirked. Watch out Minho, I'm going to figure you out soon.
