Immediately another rumble surged through our bodies. Felix and Jisung ran to gather the weapons while Changbin ushered me to follow him.
"Can't I help this time?" I begged, limping severely as fast as I could on a stick I found.
"Sorry, you know Chan's rules," he called back, high kneeing up the steps. I sighed, pissed that I was always being hidden like a vulnerable child, and followed him past the prison of Hyunjin's dad to the small room I had woken up in. "Stay in here and call us if anything happens. Here's a gun. Bye!" With that he shut the door, and I heard him run back down the stairs. Poor Hyunjin's dad, being locked up in a room for so long. Poor me with a bad leg unable to run. But did that stop me? Oh no, of course not.
I did consider calling Min, who had disappeared after I got injured, but wasn't going to risk her meeting Changbin. So instead, I quietly cracked open the door and limped out on my beautiful stick. Clomp, clomp, clomp... why did it have to be so loud? I walked past the 'prison' to find its door open and empty. He must have been taken along. The sad thing was I hadn't even seen the parents yet.
I peered down the stairs into the warehouse; it was completely empty and silent except for the ever increasing gunfire from outside echoing in the building. After managing to stumble down the stairs, I traveled to one of the back doors and kicked it open with my good leg. Oh great. It was completely dark. If everything went well, I could find a member and help out... how? I had no idea. Something would come up, right?
For the most part I was just curious, so after gathering my gun in one hand, I clomped along the wall to the corner then peered out. There was some sort of motion coming from across the street... some sort of fist to fist fight. I squinted in the dark... Min?
Suddenly a body fell to the ground with a loud thump and Min stood victorious over it. Then she turned around and made eye contact with me, then casually strolled across the street and stood in front of me.
"You're alive," she commented.
"Where have you been?" I interrogated.
"You know, just around. After you got shot I had to leave so Changbin wouldn't see me of course, so I kind of just hung outside the warehouse. The attack started and I kinda thought 'why not kill some guys?' "
I looked at her utterly in awe. "There is something seriously wrong with you Min."
"I disagree. You're the one limping around on a stick."
"That's-" I was about to argue back when suddenly I heard Changbin call me from behind. Oh great.
"Hana! I told you to stay inside! What are you-"
As I turned around I saw him realize who was with me. His eyes widened for a moment, then narrowed in a steady glare at Min. "What are you doing here with Hana?"
Min was also in shock to have Changbin standing in front of her for the first time in years, but in a few seconds answered, "Because I was helping and we're friends."
Oh no. This was not good.
"You're- Hana you're friends?"
I slowly nodded. He grabbed my arm and pulled me behind him. "Stay away from her. She isn't worthy to be trusted."
What? My eyebrows furrowed angrily. "What the heck Changbin?" I threatened. "What did she ever do to you? She can't help being born, nothing is her fault."
Changbin slowly turned to me. "She killed mom-"
"Like two decades ago!" I blurted. "She's literally helped us out, but does that matter? You still hate her!"
