Sonic whined as he got up on his knees and shook his head to recover. He looked to his left; Willow made it out alright, seeing that she was sitting upright.

"You okay?" he asked worryingly.

"I'm fine."

The loud humming of the Eggpod made them jerk their heads in its direction. Dr. Robotnik smirked sinisterly at them as he lowered his hovercraft a few feet off the ground.

"Can I give you one genius piece of advice?" he suggested. "Don't run. It'll only hurt more if you do. And it's bad for your joints, they proved it."

"Say what you want, smart aleck," hissed Willow, gritting her teeth at him.

Even though he got the message that Robotnik wasn't messing around, Sonic still kept his pride up. "Alright, Eggman. You wanna get fast? Let's get fast!"

He swiftly swiped all of the fallen rings off the ground and stuffed them back into his satchel, then swept Willow off her feet, making her yelp, as he took off into the streets.

Mentally shaking his head, Robotnik quickly put on his goggles. "The hard way, it is." The roof shut over the cockpit and he sped off after the duo.

Willow could definitely see that Sonic was going faster than the two previous spurts that they had done before as he maneuvered through the streets and climbed over oncoming traffic. Her short choppy mint green hair whipped violently over her face. Peering over his shoulder, she felt her blood rush as she watched the Eggpod start firing laser blasts at them. 'Really?! We're in a crowded area! Whatever happened to innocent bystanders?!'

There was no time to answer that as Sonic drifted to the right, making her nearly lose her grip around his neck. She barely rescued herself while he veered left, with the Eggpod still in pursuit.

Robotnik grunted as he steered. "Whoa!" he exclaimed out loud. "That was an illegal left, by the way!"

He fired another blast at the duo. Sonic leapt onto then flipped off a car before it blew up behind him and Willow.

"So, here we are again! We've been through so much together! Especially me and Willow! Now you know why there's a psychotic robot doctor chasing a supersonic blue hedgehog and a girl with an abnormal natural hair color. Wanna know how it ends? Yeah, me too."

They kept zipping down the lane while dodging the lasers. Sonic leapt onto the side of a building, then leapt off again while pulling a really cool certain parkour stunt with Willow in his arms as they dodged another two laser blasts and grinned along another building wall. Seeing a bus with a Paris tourism ad on it in the way, he tossed Willow high into the air and slid under, narrowly missing another laser blast. The bus blew up behind the hedgehog as he came back up and caught the girl in his arms.

"How is this possible?!" he asked aloud, hopping over a car. "No one's caught up to me before!"

"Unless..." Willow's memory traced back to when Robotnik found Tom's collected blue quill in the house. Her eyes widened. "No."

"What 'no'?"

"The quill Robotnik found at Tom's house! There must be some sort of lively electrically-charged energy in that thing! He must've figured out how to use it as a sort of supercharged battery!"

Sonic freaked.

"Not good! Willow, I need you to reach into my bag and hand me a ring! I gotta take us somewhere else!"

"On it!" she slipped a ring into his hand as he pictured a destination.
