The sun was barely setting over the Golden State in the city of San Francisco. A gorgeous sight, if you ask me.

But if you're being high-tailed in a car chase without cars? Not so much.

Little did passing citizens know, or even notice at all, was that two speeding bolts of light were having it out.

How do I know? I was there. I was apart of it, actually.

One of the bolts of light, a bright electric blue, was carrying me in his arms as we sped through the tight, narrow streets. The other, a brilliant red, a speeding hovercraft, was right behind us, firing red lasers at us as we go.

Now hold on a minute. Let's slow down and try to take this all in . Mind if you do the honors, friend?

"Not at all!"

Alright, narrate away.

"So, I know what you're thinking. Why is that incredibly handsome hedgehog carrying a soon-to-be eighth grade girl while being chased by a madman with a mustache from the Civil War?"

We'd just flipped and barely dodged a laser blast off of a car that blew up behind us, but we kept going, anyway.

"Well, to be honest, it feels like I've been running my whole life."

We switched paths on multiple streets faster than you could blink an eye.

"Is this too much? Am I going too fast? It's kind of what I do — you know what? Let's back up."

That's right, my friend. In order to recognize what is going on, we have to go back to the beginning.

And I mean the VERY beginning.
