The blue hedgehog tugged Tom and Willow's wrists with excitement over to a line dance that started up, with "Bad News" by Ghost Hounds beginning to play. The girl admitted that she did like doing line dances at the youth dances she went to back home. But things just felt a lot more awkward, not just because of the fact that she was afraid of showing what she was capable of, but the fact that Tom and Sonic were totally out of sync and just kept bumping into each other as they grapevined.
She had to pull them out, that way she wouldn't get too annoyed. "Maybe... we should try something simpler, then come back to the dancing."
"Why not darts?" Tom suggested, pointing to a dartboard on the wall on the left side of the bar.
The trio walked over to some high barstools after asking for a cup of darts and began to play. Both the youngsters had seen darts played before, but Sonic wanted to try it out for himself. They decided to do one round, winner-takes-all.
Tom went up first to demonstrate and took a dart out of the cup. Sonic stood on a stool and watched with fists on his hips as Tom took careful aim, while Willow just sat on another, patiently waiting her turn. The sheriff threw and landed the dart on a perfect bullseye. He gave Sonic a showoff-y grin. 'YEAH! Try to beat THAT!'
Sonic rolled up the sleeves of the "borrowed" red plaid shirt with determination as Tom walked over and pulled his dart out and came back. Sonic took the entire cup and super speedily threw them. Much to his dismay and more to Willow's outburst of laughter, all of the darts landed everywhere outside the target. They looked to their right at the waitress they met earlier, darts poking out of her cowboy hat and stuck in cans of Corona Extra on a tray she held with one hand, squirting beer out in all directions.
Willow stopped laughing and smiled sheepishly at the waitress. "Sorry," she waved. The waitress, with her mouth still agape, slowly waved back and immediately trotted back to the bar with the messy tray in hand.
The mint green-haired girl then noticed a dart on the ground, picked it up, and threw it without much care.
All three of their mouths dropped right when it landed in a perfect bullseye.
"What?!" Tom yelled in disbelief, squeezing his head.
"Tha-that was an accident!" Willow pointed at the dartboard, laughing. "A sheer. Lucky. ACCIDENT!"
"How many times have you played darts before?" Sonic asked her, pulled.
"One." She stopped laughing and let out a heavy sigh, still amazed at her result. "This was the only time I've ever played."
'WOW.'
Tom as left with huge bug eyes while Sonic crossed "compete in a sport" off his list.
Willow got off the barstool and followed the boys over to an arcade basketball hoop in the right corner. Tom inserted two quarters into the slot and the three started shooting hoops.
She started getting more and more frustrated as the game went on; she never liked those types of games, anyway.
But the game took a whole new turn when she noticed the hedgehog was missing. Immediately, she caught sight of Tom chucking a blue furry ball into the hoop and scored, but then realized his mistake.
Quickly, Willow's frown turned upside down as Sonic popped out on the basketball rim and speedily used his legs to rig the scoreboard.
"Hey!~" she playfully accused him, pointing.
"Ha ha! New high score!" he peered down at the two humans. The game ended with no clear winner, but he still got to cross off "do a SLAM DUNK".
They went back to the line dance to try again, only Willow chose to sit out. The boys still couldn't figure out the dance, so they decided do their own.
