After a restless night the first day at Hogwarts has arrived, everyone had taken an interest in the Potter boys trying to see them outside classrooms or corridors, Harry wished they didn't as he was trying to find all his classes and the first one was transfigurations with Professor McGonagall, Y/n took a separate way from Harry and Ron as he wanted to explore a little before their first class, while exploring he cane arcoss an portrait that hid a secret path straight to transfigurations, Hermione was waiting outside of the classroom and seems to be the only one there, realising that there's not long till the lesson started Y/n decided to wait as well
Hermione sees him walking from the portrait and begins to question him
Hermione: Where did you come from
Y/n: portrait had a secret passage way
Hermiones mouth widened with excitement
Hermione: How marvelous, I read about them in a book about the history of Hogwarts it was quite fascinating really
Y/n was looking at the transfiguration courtyard while Hermione was talking about the history of Hogwarts, he was trying to listen to her but he was more interested in looking at the courtyard at the time, the doors opened revealing professor McGonagall
McGonagall: Miss Granger and Mr Potter, you both seem to be on time
Y/n: Got lucky, found a secret passage that led me here
McGonagall: And I'm sure you'll find many more through your years at Hogwarts
They both entered the classroom as many of the other students arrived just in time for the lesson, Hermione continued to talk about the book while Y/n was grabbing a seat which Hermione decided to sit next to him this time talking about transfigurations, y/n tries to remain patient with her because he could tell she was excited for today and seems to not have any friends so far
Harry and Ron arrived ten minutes late for the lesson and saw Y/n and Hermione working but strangely no professor McGonagall and only a tabby cat sitting on the table, Harry and Ron looked at the tabby ever so curiously they didn't catch the fact that Y/n was laughing at them, in the second the tabby jumps off the table and turned into professor McGonagall, Ron was gob smacked

Ron: That was bloody brilliant!!
McGonagall: Thank you Mr Weasley, would it help if I transfigured one of you into a watch maybe you would be on time
Y/n: Please do professor!!
Harry: We got lost
McGonagall: Then maybe about a map
Y/n: Yes please professor!!!
McGonagall: That will do Mr Potter, perhaps you'll follow your brother a bit more since he seems to be the more, intuitive
Harry: Yes professor
They take their seats across from Y/n and Hermione and quickly turn to Y/n who was smirking
