Y/n and Harry Potter were unusual boys as they hate summer more than any holiday time of year, Harry wanted to do his homework but had to do it in the night to Y/n's discussed who was trying to sleep, Y/n took up a new hobby in annoying his Aunt, uncle and cousin to the point that they would lock him outside and he would teepee the house with toilet roll, he hid a stash outside where they couldn't find it and would proceed to teepee the house where his uncle would turn a shade of red that he didn't know he could turn into

Late at night Harry hid under his blanket with a torch in hand and a leathery book history of Magic and a quill in hand trying to find anything that would help with his essay, the light would occasionally light up Y/n's side of the room where he would tell him to turn that bloody light off, one occasion he got out of bed and threw the touch out of the window hitting a garbage bin and the sound of a cat along with a car alarm so Harry decided to be extra careful when reading at night since he couldn't afford another torch after that night

Harry put his quill in between his teeth as he reached around his pillow for his ink bottle and a roll of parchment dipped his quill into it and began to write, pausing trying to listen for any sign of movement from Y/n, even the Dursleys if any of them got up to use the toilet and heard the sound of scratching paper he would probably be locked inside the cupboard for the rest of the summer, he knew Y/n probably break him out eventually after agreeing not to do it in the middle of the night again, most the Dursleys could do was lock away their wands and spell books but that never lasted as Y/n got hold of his wand the next day and reminded them he could just give them all pigs tails and a snout if they tried again

This was trouble for Harry as all of the teachers have given them homework to do over the summer holidays and one about shrinking potions set by Y/n and Harry's least favourite teacher Professor Snape, Y/n kept trying to tell Harry not to bother and just try to enjoy the summer, Harry couldn't understand his happy demeanour and was starting to get tired of it, while the Dursleys were out the front garden looking at the new company car that uncle Vernon was given Harry took the chance to get hold of his books while Y/n ended the Dursleys enjoyment by letting out all the air from the tyres and Painted on the car fat bastards on board, Harry had quickly ran upstairs to hide all his books and as long he didn't leave ink on the sheets the Dursleys wouldn't know he was working by night

Harry tried to not annoy his aunt and uncle as they were already in a bad mood from Y/n and then Harry receiving a telephone call from Ron the other week who had no idea how to use a telephone and unfortunately uncle Vernon was the one to answer it

Vernon: Hello Vernon Dudley speaking who's calling

Ron: HELLO!! IM LOOKING FOR HARRY AND Y/N POTTER!! CAN YOU HERE ME!!!!

Vernon had jumped a foot away from the phone in alarm and annoyance

Vernon: Who is this!

Ron: RON WEASLEY!!! IM A FRIEND OF THERE'S FROM SCHOOL!!

Y/n bellowed with laughter while Harry was rooted to the spot as uncle Vernon's eyes darted about looking at them ferociously

Vernon: There's no Y/n and Harry Potter here!! I don't know what school you're talking about and don't you dare call this number again!!

And he threw the receiver back onto the telephone as if dropping a poisonous spider.
The fight that had followed had been one of the worst ever.

Vernon: HOW DARE YOU GIVE THIS NUMBER TO PEOPLE LIKE -- PEOPLE LIKE
YOU!

Uncle Vernon had roared, spraying Harry with spit while Y/n grabbed an umbrella to protect himself from it, Ron obviously realized that he'd gotten them into trouble, because he hadn't called again, their other friend and Y/n's best friend from Hogwarts, Hermione Granger hadn't been in touch either. Harry suspected that Ron had
warned Hermione not to call, which was a pity, because Hermione, the cleverest witch in their year had Muggle parents and knew perfectly well how to use a telephone and would probably have had enough sense not to say that she went to Hogwarts, so Harry said Y/n had had no word from any of their wizarding friends for five long weeks and this summer was turning out to be almost as bad as the last one, there was just one very small improvement after swearing that they
wouldn't use her to send letters to any of their friends, Y/n had been allowed to let his owl, Hedwig, out at night, uncle Vernon had given in because of the racket Hedwig made if she was locked in her cage all the time and Y/n decided to have a little revenge with Hedwig and let her out inside uncle Vernon and aunt Petunia's bedroom where she relieved herself all over the room then returned to her cage
