"Mmmm" She collapsed into the bath as its warmth enveloped her. "I definitely missed this." She said with her eyes shut, mesmerizing the moment.
"I bet you did, ma'am." Ella smiled as usual, wiping her feet. "It must have been so cold by the sea"
"You can't imagine!" She groaned at the thought of it. "Mornings weren't friendly."
"It's all for love." She said taking Rissa's arm this time.
Rissa opened her eyes immediately. "I'm not exactly sure." She scrutinized her eyes making her brows trying to kiss.
She smiled even though she knew Rissa didn't just want to admit that.
"Can I ask you something?" She asked.
"Yes, ma'am." She replied.
"How did that Diane woman and Luke live together considering the fact that he might not like her?" She asked knowing fully well she wasn't being specific.
"Live together?" Ella paused the cleaning to try to understand what that question meant exactly. "Like couples? I guess." She shrugged slowly, not exactly sure.
"Couples? Tell me about it." She asked again.
She smiled, looking like she understood what Rissa was trying to get at.
"Not exactly sure-uhm-er-they eat together only on weekends, they are both workaholics, that's the only similar thing about them." She said.
Rissa sat up in the tub. "Why only on weekends?"
"Sir leaves as early as six-thirty in the morning before she leaves by seven too, other times, he's out of the city or country or vice versa." She noted. "Weekends, they are both home, not all the time though, 2 out of a four weekends most times." She added now washing her hair.
"Whao!" She wasn't sure if she was surprised but she definitely didn't expect Diane to be a workaholic too. Well, thinking about it, she did look business-like the last time.
"It was all business for them, I'm not sure they even had time to consummate their union." She said freely.
"Huhn? Consummate?"That sounded like a word her grandmother once said to her daughter.
"You don't know what that is?" Ella seemed taken aback. "I know I'm not too old." She laughed along at the thought of her ignorance.
"You definitely aren't." She smiled back. "What's that?" She asked looking curious, like what the heck was that word.
"Consummate?" Her Italian accent came on strong as the rhetorical question came out. "It simply means to do justice after marriage, to have intercourse after the blissful union on the wedding night to be specific, not that it can't happen any other day though." She held a smile as she wrapped Rissa's hair in a towel.
Rissa slipped into her robe, walking into her room while Ella followed behind, she was literally treated like a Queen or some royal and it all felt good.
"That is what that is?" She sat at the foot of her bed smiling at her stupidity and ignorance. "I only know the words sex and dick." She tapped her forehead.
"I know that too." The other smiled.
"That's a miracle!" She said, clapping sarcastically.
"I'll leave you to get dressed now." She gave a little courtesy bow. "Dinner is ready as soon as you're out." That said, she walked out.
Rissa thought about all that Ella had said and the only thing she was grateful for was that there was only a 10 to 100% chance that they had sex and it was a huge relief. Now, she was suddenly missing work and the hospital and her family and friends, to think she wanted to disappear then. And if God truly existed, he had to answer only that prayer out of all her numerous prayers. Hmm...
