POEM XV - A CUP OF LONGING

In a cup of warmth, love finds its embrace,
As bitter brew dances with sweet grace.
But time, a cruel thief, steals its heat away,
Leaving behind a taste of longing and dismay.

Once aromatic whispers of passion's flame,
Now a fading memory, a melancholy refrain.
With each passing moment, the warmth turns cold,
Like love that withers, a story left untold.

The bitter brew once stirred with care,
Now sits untouched, its aroma in the air.
A bitter reminder of what once was near,
A love that faltered, a heart full of fear.

So sip the coffee, taste the bitter-sweet,
A melancholic dance of love's retreat.
For in each cup, a story can unfold,
Of love that fades and leaves the heart aching, cold.
