Isabelle's POV
"Can you tell me yet?" I asked izzy stumbling blindly around her office.
"No! Now keep your eyes closed."
"Ok ok I am." I heard her unlocking a door and opening a cabinet.
"Ok open." I stared at a round disk laying on the ground. I glanced at her in confusion. "I have opened a door of possibilities and I wanted to let you in, this here is magic for us. Science fiction you could say. Don't say I'm crazy, I'm not"
"So what is it?" I asked with a tone full of curiosity.
"A passage to your heaven." She told me while doing jazz hands for effect.
"My death?"
"No! Oh my gosh Isabelle, No! This is a time machine."
"You are crazy." I was very much confused. It's not that I doubted she did this. Izzy is the worlds best inventor, I know some how she figured out this machine.
"No I'm not" she countered. "Happy birthday!"
"Why do I need this?" I wondered what I would o with this or why she would let me use such a rare, one of a kind, technology breaking device.
"I will only ever in my lifetime let you use this." She told me.
"Ok, continue."
"Your dream is to be in Titanic , correct?" She knew me so well.
"Yeah" I nodded, trying to figure out where this was going and how it related to Titanic.
"Well, now you get your chance! This will allow you to go to the time of auditions and get a part!" I squealed. Oh my goodness! I get to audition for my favorite movie! This is insane! It is impossible! It is a dream come true! Izzy was definitely my fairy god mother. But then I remembered what I learned when my sister watched Back to the Future on repeat.
"Wait, what if this ends like Back to the Future, the whole space time continuum thing?"
"What do we care? We are about to fulfill our destinies even if it destroys other's! As selfish as this sounds, this has been my goal in life and now you have a chance for your absurd dream. Take a chance. I have fulfilled my life's meaning now you go get yours. I've always said you're not meant to be born in this century." I hugged her.
"This is happening so fast. When do I leave?" I was so Nervous yet excited.
"Whenever you want."
"Will you visit?"
"When I create a second time machine to bring with me so I can come home."
"So I'll be stuck there until you do, correct?"
"Yes. But you can wait till I make a second if you prefer."
"It's ok my life is meant for the 90's and I don't intend on wasting it here." I hugged her again. "Thank you! You are the best!"
"It's the least I can do." She locked the time machine back up and headed to the door. "You can't tell a single soul." I could tell by her voice she was dead serious. I could only imagine the outcomes if I told anyone and they were not very pretty.
"Now let's go learn about the 90's!" She called. We walked to my truck. I smiled. I would miss her but like our old saying DiCaprio before friends. It was a joke, with no meaning really until today.
