The Mistress then stormed out of the dungeon, as Kanji rushed to Jia's side.
"Jia? Jia?! Open your eyes please!
"Hello?
"Hello??!"
"Kanji! Is that you?"
Shoot.
What am I gonna do?
I'll have to leave Jia here...
"I'll be back Jia, I promise."
Kanji sadly ran out of the dungeon...and instantly froze in panic.
AH!
If someone spots me coming out,
They're gonna know Jia was lying!
She'll get hurt more!
I've gotta find an alibi!!
Kanji quickly maneuvered himself around the array of servants, slipped into an empty room, and proceeded to walk out.
"Kanji! There you are!"
Kanji's Mother rushed to his side.
"Where were you?"
Time to put on an act...
"Sob...I got lost in the big mansion..."
"Oh, dear..."
Kanji's Mother stood up and bowed.
"Thank you, Mistress, for this lovely dinner, but I believe we must be going."
"That's quite alright. Goodbye you two."
Kanji and his mother waved goodbye, then exited the door.
The moment they left the vicinity of the Mistress's house, Kanji's Mother slapped him.
"You made me look like a fool?!"
"I'm sorry."
"Ugh."
His Mother dragged him back to their mansion.
"You're grounded, and not allowed to leave the house for the rest of the day."
"Yes, Mother."

Inside Kanji's room...
How am I supposed to help Jia now?
Well, I guess I can sneak out.
I am pretty good at that.
Kanji slid out of bed and tiptoed out of his room, maneuvered around the many servants, and into his Mother's potion room.
"Bingo."
Grabbing a satchel off of the wall, he stuffed it with as many healing potions as he could.
"I've got to hurry...otherwise..."
Grabbing a few treats for Jia, Kanji hopped out of the window, and dashed away from the mansion.

"Jia! Jia! I'm her-"
Kanji stared in disbelief as he saw a glowing lady who had surrounded Jia.
"Who are you?! What have you done to Jia!"
The glowing lady turned to face Kanji with a cold glare and replied,
"I simply healed her."
"What?"
"Jia," the lady began, turning to face her, "who is this fellow? Friend or foe?"
Jia looked up blankly.
"Kanji!" She squealed.
"Yeah that's enough for me."
The glowing lady's cold glare quickly vanished as a warm smile appeared on her face.
She moved aside and motioned for Kanji to come sit by Jia.
"Well, since you are Jia's friend, I suppose I can entrust you to take care of her?"
"Yeah!"
Jia smiled as Kanji's eyes shone with confidence.
"Good."
