Wade's POV

We all sat there for a moment, frozen in our chairs. There was someone in the house, and they were in the room right next to us! "What do we do?!?", Yami whispered frantically. Mark's eyes darkened and he growled, "We get the son of a bitch in the living room, and we get some god damn answers!" Bob and I glanced at each other, we had never seen Mark this angry before. Mark stood up and motioned for me to follow him, and we snuck over to the doorway. Mark peeked around the corner and charged in, and I ran after him. We saw someone by the door, and Mark tackled whoever it was to the ground. The person shrieked in surprise, and my eyes widened in realization. Holy Christ, this was an insane fangirl! She glared up at Mark and growled at him, her eyes like ice. Mark stared back down at her, and he demanded, "What are you doing in my house?"

She sighed and said, "Listen Mark, just let me go and I can explain everything. Trust me, it'll all make sense." Mark just glared down at her, and she demanded, "Mark, let me go now." Mark hissed and pulled away from the woman, as though his hands had been burned. She sat up and shook her head and tutted, "See, you should've let me go earlier." "Um, what the hell just happened?", I asked. The woman turned towards me and smiled, then asked, "Wade, how've you been? It's been forever since I saw you!" "Uh, good?", I answered, not sure of what was going on anymore. She smiled and stood up, then walked towards the kitchen. "Come on, I'll explain it over food. How does pizza sound?", she asked. Pizza actually sound good night now, I didn't get to eat any lunch... Mark and I followed the woman into the kitchen, although Mark obviously didn't like it. She smiled at Yami and Bob, then moved over to the house phone. She picked it up and dialed a number, and ordered some pizzas for us.

"Alright, if it isn't here in thirty minutes, then it'll be free!", the woman exclaimed before taking a seat next to me. "Ok, so I believe you boys want a few things explained.", she said. Mark nodded, scowling at the crazy stalker lady. "Well, my name's Maria first of all." Yami's eyes widened in surprise and he stammered, "M-Maria?" She smiled brightly and asked, "Surprised to actually see me Yami?" Yami went pale and slumped over suddenly, but Maria caught him by the shoulders in time. "Sorry about that, I'll explain that later.", Maria said as she propped Yami up against her and carried him to the living room. Mark followed her closely, and then it was just Bob and I. "What the hell is going on?", Bob asked, crossing his arms. I shrugged and replied, "I have no clue, all I know is that we're getting free pizza." Bob rolled his eyes at me and snapped, "Wade, you need to be serious now! She and Yami obviously know each other, and Yami passed out! So,etching really weird and wrong is going on here, so be a little less childish!"

I nodded and looked back at the doorway, swallowing the lump in my throat. I hated it when I made Bob mad, and it seemed like I was doing that more often lately. Maria came back in, but Mark must've stayed in the living room with Yami because he didn't follow her back in. She sat down at the table and looked over at me worriedly, then glanced at Bob. "Is everything alright?", she asked timidly. Bob glared at her and said, "Of course everything's alright, Yami's only passed out in the living room because of you!" Maria winced at the venomous tone Bob used, and I actually felt a little bad for her. Bob was normally really laid back, but if you made him mad... It won't end well, let's just leave it at that.

Maria didn't look like she was a bad person, but Bob would probably say that looks were deceiving. She was short, shorter than Mark even. She couldn't have been but 5'6 or so, and she was kinda thin. Not like a stick or anything, but skinny. She was wearing metal framed glasses, and her dark brown hair hung down to the middle of her back in gentle waves. Her eyes had looked cold and icy earlier, but now they looked warmer and friendlier, almost like the ocean. She looked up suddenly and caught me staring, then glanced away quickly, a light blush spreading across her face. "I uh, I guess I have more explaining to do, right?", she asked. Bob just scowled at her and I nodded, then said, "It would be nice if you could explain some." Maria stared down at her hands and took in a shaky breath before beginning, "When I was born, there was a large thunderstorm. My mother died after giving birth to me, and my father wandered out into the storm and was never seen again."

Maria paused for a moment, wiping tears from her eyes, before continuing, "I was sent to live in an orphanage, and I spent my whole life there." This was obviously getting difficult for her to talk about, but she continued on shakily, "I never made many friends there, even then people could tell I was... Different." Different? What did she mean by that? Maria was openly crying now, not bothering to wipe away her tears. "I'm sorry, I-I just need a moment.", she stammered, getting up and walking out to Mark's backyard. I looked over at Bob the moment the door shut behind her, and he looked less angry. "Do you think she's telling the truth?", Bob asked quietly. I nodded and he sighed, then looked over at me apologetically. "Wade, I'm sorry for being a dick earlier. This whole thing has me all stressed out, and I shouldn't have taken it out on you, you don't deserve that."

I smiled at Bob slightly and said, "Hey, it's fine man, it's all water under the bridge." Bob smiled back at me and sighed, then glanced over at the door. "Do you think she might try to run out there?", Bob asked worriedly. I didn't even have to think about it, I just shook my head and replied, "No, she's not gonna try to leave. She's obviously wanted to get this off of her chest for a while, and we might be the only ones that'll listen to her. She's a good person, she just wants someone to listen to her. Someone that'll listen and not judge her. She's been through a lot Bob, she needs our help." Bob looked at me and asked, "How the hell did you get all that from a few sentences she said?" I shrugged and said, "I'm not really sure, it's just easy to read her." The back door opened and she walked in, shutting the door behind her softly. She sat down again and looked at us, then asked, "Alright, now where was I?"
