Keiji's 17th Day of Sojourn
5:51 PMThe night awakened once more as the games began to open. This time, the venue is at a school.
I was the first to arrive at the arena, soon followed by a man dressed like a monk.
"Your first time, huh?" He said.
"Barely." I replied.
"Say, would you be interested in the answer to this world?"
"An answer is not what I am seeking, but anything that involves putting myself at risk is not what I would like."
"How about a chance to join a group? Would you be interested to join?" He asked.
"What's my risk for it? Nothing is free these days." I said.
"A simple observation, you wouldn't mind if testing you in this game would cost you a life wouldn't you?"
I thought for a second and scratched my face. I then exhaled and said, "Fine... But what 's in it for me?"
"What do you mean?"
"A group can be lethal if not handled by the right person."
"Ah~, I get what you mean, I'll do what it takes to get you in position."
"What do you mean 'do what it takes' so you're not sure about it?"
"I am, just take it with a grain of salt." He said.
A man with a suit soon pursued and said, "Am I the last one?"
"There are currently three players, please wait for the entry limit to be reached." The announcer spoke.
"Oh," The man said.
The whole group fell silent for a while, I was whispering into the silver moon which shone right above us.
"A school this time huh? I wonder what game we're going to play?" The man with the suit said.
"Based on the factors of the arena, it wouldn't be a Spades game because the school isn't as big that we can play physically in it. Since Spades is out, we can deduct Clubs for it is just a combination of Hearts, Diamonds and Spades... Meaning it is either Diamonds or Hearts." The monk replied.
"'Clubs are a combination of Hearts, Diamonds and Spades?' I thought Clubs are teamwork?" Asked by the man with the suit.
"It could be, but best in mind that Clubs are 'balanced' rather than teamwork." Said the monk.
"You learn something new everyday." Said the man.
A woman soon entered the arena and the registration for the game will soon close.
"There are currently four participants inside the venue. Registration is now closed, the game is about to commence. Please proceed to the main hallway leading to the playground for the game to commence."
We entered the hallway which is full of dimmed and flickering lights.
As the hallway ends, we meet with a playground with a table.
There stood two broken kites, one colored rainbow while the other was designed as a dragon.
"Are we... going to fly these kites?" Said the suited man.
"I don't doubt it," The woman replied as she pointed to four collars displaying, "One per Person."
"Shit..." I muttered.
