Naruto: The blood red moon

"Kazesuna Kankuro VS Nara Shikamaru, both fighters come down from the stands!"

Shikamaru's POV

'What a drag...'

I walked down the steps to the arena and found myself in the center right across from my opponent, already thinking of a plan

"...GO!"

I just stood still in the same stance crouched down before running to the left, throwing 3 shuriken and 3 kunai.

He blocked all 6 of them but they had wires on them restraining him, I thought it was an easy win but suddenly blades came out of his arms and cut through the wires

A puppet..?

I saw the real Kankuro jump off the puppets back and unravel the bandages before dashing back and staying at a distance and fighting with his puppet

So I led the puppet as far as I could before sidestepping the blade sent at me and attaching an explosive tag on its chest and then throwing down a smoke bomb

I stayed in the smoke and waited for him to come just a little closer before I used a clone jutsu 2 versions of me jumped out of the smoke, one on each side.

He summoned a second puppet and sent it at my clone, the clone kept running and while he was focused on the clone I ran to a bush on the side of the arena

I then used my clans jutsu

'Shadow possession jutsu!'

It dashed out of the bush at high speeds and caught his shadow

I walked out of the bush and heard him say something

"So what are you gonna do, all this Jutsu does is make me manipulate your movements"

And my response was raising my hand

"Proctor I forfeit, I'm out of chakra"

"Nara Shikamaru, are you sure about this?"

I nodded

"Nara Shikamaru is unable to fight any longer, Kazesuna Kankuro wins!"

I heard the crowd boo, but all that mattered in these matches was your performance so I didn't care but man

What a drag...

Chizuki's POV

He's smarter than he looks, he still remembered that 'it doesn't matter who wins in these matches, all that matters is your performance'

"Hyuga Hinata VS Kinuta Dosu, both fighters come down from the stand!"

I saw the Hyuga go down to the arena but then I realized, the sound Genin wasn't in the stand to begin with, he wasn't even in the arena.

We saw an Anbu jump down to the proctor and whispered something to him

"It seems Kinuta Dosu is not in the stands and not even in the arena, he will be disqualified, Hyuga Hinata takes the match by default"
