Zayn's POV
"Hey mom, how are you? How's Doniya?" I said into the phone. I haven't talked to my mom in ages and now that I only have one final left, it's a good time to.
"Hey love, I'm alright, she's alright. Still the same Zayn." She sighed into the phone. I should be by her side, helping her through all this.
The boys mentioned a while back that they would come back with me once the semester was over, and it almost is but we're going to Malibu instead.
"Mom, I'll go home. I'll stay with her so you can get some rest. I don't need to go with my friends. It'll be okay." I reassured her.
"No, no honey. I told Liam's parents you were going, they're expecting you and I want you to have fun. I'll see you in time for Christmas. We'll be together again. I want you to enjoy yourself first okay? You deserve it." She said and I heard a bit of a smile with her voice.
"I have so much to tell you mum. I met a girl, her name is Perrie and she is amazing. You would love her, she's everything I've ever wanted in a girl. I mean, sure we didn't get off in the right foot but now we get along perfectly and it's been..." I explained to her, when it comes to Perrie I can never find the right words.
"Zayn, honey! I'm so happy for you! Finally, you've met someone! Aw, I can't wait to meet her love." She said and happiness was surrounding her voice this time.
"Also, I'm pretty sure I aced all my finals. I just have one more which is Econ and you know I love econ and I'm good at it so I'm going to ace it no problem." I told her. I miss my mum so much.
"I'm so proud of you Zayn. So proud my love." She said. "Okay mum, I gotta go. I'm meeting Perrie in a bit to study. I'll call you before we head out to Malibu okay? I love you so much." I said to her as I looked at my clock.
"Okay honey, I love you too. Talk to you soon." She said and kissed me over the phone.
I ended the call and right on time, the doorbell rang. I quickly ran downstairs and opened the door to come face to face with my beautiful girlfriend.
"Hey Zayn." She said and kissed my cheek. I ushered her inside and closed the door.
"Want a snack?" I offered and lead her into the kitchen. She nodded and followed me.
"Muffins okay?" I asked as I looked at the counter, there were some muffins from this morning left over.
"Sure, sounds good." She smiled and sat down at the table. I passed her a muffin and got her a glass of juice.
"So, how's your day been?" I asked her. She looked up at me and sighed, "It's been okay. I just got out of a study session with all of the girls. It's the first time we've been together at once since Niall talked to them."
"So... it didn't go well?" I asked her. She made a noise that I couldn't even describe.
"It was awkward, we didn't even know what to talk about. Jade and I kept stealing glances at them and they both seemed fine but it's not the same." She said.
I rubbed her back, "It's alright love. Things will go back to the way they were before." I reassured her.
She nodded, "Yeah, but what if they don't? What if they're like this forever?" She looked at me with worry in her eyes.
"Give them a few more days. Go out more, it's only been a couple of days right? Give them time." I told her as I wrapped my arms around her and breathed her in.
"I missed you, did you know that?" I asked her and kissed the top of her head. She looked up at me and gave me a bright smile.
"I missed you too." She said and she pecked me quickly. "But we still have one last final exam. I need you to transfer some of your knowledge over." She giggled.
