"So, how did you and Dohyun meet?" Mr Min inquired once he was sat beside you, and the car was in motion. There was no getting out now, you were trapped.
"Wish we hadn't," you muttered bitterly. "He came into my club about a month ago, told me I could quit and he'd take care of me," you answered without taking your eyes off of the headrest in front of you.
"You were a dancer?" You lifted your head in vague confirmation, you weren't proud of your life but you'd done what you needed to get by. "So what is he? Your boyfriend? Your pimp?" Now you looked over angrily.
"I'm not some prostitute, and he's not my boyfriend— anymore," you ran your tongue over your teeth in annoyance and disgust.
"Good," he paused and the vehicle fell into silence. "I apologize for the insinuation," he concluded.
"Thank you," was all you gave him in response, voice low and oddly calm.
Conversation died there when the car pulled up at the steps of a ultra-modern high rise, one located within a pricey gated community. He got out of the car and extended a hand to help you out too, one you were so shocked to receive that you took it on reflex.
"This way," he told you, leading you towards the steps so you'd walk beside him. Inside, you passed a well dressed clerk manning a desk, but he didn't pay you any mind so you kept your gaze ahead.
In the elevator Mr Min kept his gaze forward too, but you made eye contact with him in the tinted, and mirrored surfaces. "You'll stay in the guest suite while you're here, my staff will see to it that you have everything you need," he told you as the ringing above announced your arrival.
Deposited straight into a large, clean living area, you took a moment to survey the space. Everything was white, except for the furnishing which was black or grey marble. The staircase tucked along the wall was made entirely of tinted glass, and lead to a second floor that was blocked from view.
Ahead on the right, you could see a long dining table with seating for ten, sunken down from the rest of the level, with the kitchen located on the other side of the wall making up the corridor along the same side you'd entered.
"Take Miss Yln to her room," he directed the man that greeted you, walking away almost immediately while you watched him climb the stairs.
"Come with me miss, your room has already been prepared," he made a sweeping gesture with his arm and you slowly followed behind him.
The suite he brought you to was close to the size of an apartment itself. With panoramic windows, framing the biggest, most luxurious bed you'd ever seen. You had a vanity table sharing the wall with the kitchen but on the opposite side of the room there were two doors.
Somehow, your belongings had made it here before you, waiting by the bed.
"I'll let you get settled. Dinner will be ready shortly," he told you, bowing on his way out of the room.
Now you were alone in a strange but comfortable space, ambling around along the windows to admire the view so high up. You were in the penthouse of the tallest building on the tallest hill, the whole world was below you.
Leaving the city lights, you turned and followed the adjoining wall to the first door. It slid into the wall and on the other side you found a large spacious bathroom, equipped with a separate bath and shower.
The door beside it lead to a wardrobe that you had no use for. But a shower was a must, you hadn't had a chance to clean up after work and you felt uncomfortable about it.
Fortunately, the bathroom came with every kind of high-end product you may need to wash. All you needed to do was turn the faucet and wait for the rainfall to warm up.
